It was bin night. And this morning everyone's binbags have been opened by a person, not an animal, a rifled through . Including our binbag full of nappies.

Definitely human judging by the way the bags have been cut.

What on earth is that all about?

Council snoops checking that you are not putting recyclable materials in with the rubbish>

Or somebody looking for info to steal identities. eek

RibenaBerry · 19/01/2010 11:17

Identity theft I would have thought.

WelliesAndPyjamas · 19/01/2010 11:22

both ideas have occured to me - but will the council binmen actually pick up the mess left behind, huh?

also, dh did stuff a load of old docs in the bin last night (stupid idea but there you go, they were about 18 yrs old and no current addresses on them ) and they were left behind.

Perhaps left because they were so old as to be no use?

domesticslattern · 19/01/2010 12:39

They are looking for bank statements etc. You do shred, don't you?

WelliesAndPyjamas · 25/01/2010 09:44

In our street two wheelies were set on fire a few weeks before Christmas. Just burnt out plastic puddles by the morning. I suppose you could argue that there's less to go to land fill but apparently in the next street a wooden fence next to the wheelie caught fire and the fire brigade had to come out at about 2 am.

Lovely what folk do for fun the night before bin collection innit...
