Got an email from sainsburys saying they currently have 1/3 off all baby products. Texted DH to see if I should head over and stock up on nappies and wipes only to get an arsey text back saying we only have £@#* left in account to last us til next week. Anyone would think I was heading to Harvey Nichols on a spending spree. It's not like I enjoy dragging 2 toddlers around supermarket, thought I was being helpful and saving money! Feeling irritated.

Why would you ask your DH if you should buy nappies?

ImSoNotTelling · 18/01/2010 14:59

If you look around I have found that most shops have something on offer at any one time. Bootd usually has wipes 2 for 1 etc and at the mo nature an pampers (I think) are reduced in waitrose.

Sorry your partner has been stroppy though.

pamperholic · 18/01/2010 15:01

It was more a 'do you think it's worth me making a special trip' as we don't need to do a big shop at the moment but the offer ends on wednesday. Would have been fine if he'd just said no, probably not worth it we'll grab some next time when we have a bit more spare cash, it was more the way he appeared to be accusing me of going overboard with the spending. He would never tell me I could or couldn't buy something, and we're really not that strapped for cash!

Well serves you right for being so self centred... your poor DH.
I can see his point, you're swanning around buying nappies, wipes, where will it all end? Toilet rolls for yourself?! Get a grip!

ImSoNotTelling · 18/01/2010 15:11

If you're not strapped for cash then I think you are unreasonable to get excited about reduced nappies to the point that a special trip is on the cards, and he is unreasonable to act as if buying reduced nappies is a sign of your wanton profligacy.

Interesting first post 'pamperholic'

pamperholic · 18/01/2010 15:18

namechanged, dh knows my mn username and didn't want him to catch me having a moan

Am feeling less irritated now, I get over these things quickly, epecially after a bit of a rant, have just decided that when we run out of nappies next week I'll be sending him out to buy them!

Sainsburys do that offer on baby products quite often, anyway.

pamperholic · 18/01/2010 15:20

Although guess if he does happen across this post he'll guess it's me anyway!

Well I did wonder...is this a sainsburys employee doing some free advertising.

Sounds ludicrous but honestly I've seen worse happen.

pamperholic · 18/01/2010 15:27

Ha, yes, I'm actually the person that liaises between pampers and sainsburys, work on commission

name changing back now, so bye!

So you ask permision to buy nappies and you are worried 'D'h will catch you having a moan?!
Nappies are the least of your problems

Northernlurker · 18/01/2010 15:34

I would get fairly grumpy if dh texted me at work to ask if he should buy bargain nappies. Can you not use your own judgement
