To think that my neighbour is slightly odd?

He's outside right now shoveling the snow and ice off his path.....into binbags

Not sure what he's intending to do with it but I'm tempted to inquire when I go out to defrost the car soon.

He also spends hours in summer trimming his hedge with scissors, maybe I'm just lazy but tidying the snow into binbags seems a chore to far even at the best of times

Hmm, that does sound odd. Won't it just melt and he'll be left with bags of water?

YANBU

DecorHate · 13/01/2010 10:45

I thought I saw someone doing that yesterday but was driving past and didn't know if I'd got the wrong end of the stick!

Amandoh · 13/01/2010 10:45

Maybe he's putting the snow into the binbags with the intention of emptying the snow out somewhere else before it melts?

Could you lend him a wheelbarrow?

onagar · 13/01/2010 10:46

Sounds odd to me, but there was a thread yesterday about pushing snow onto someone elses path so maybe he's trying to avoid that. God knows what he will do with the bin bags though.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/01/2010 10:50

Maybe he plans to haul them all to his back garden and dump them out?

PirateJelly · 13/01/2010 10:54

What's more odd though is he has a large patch of grass next to the said path and drive which is covered in snow, so I'm not sure why he doesn't just put it onto the lawn.

He has done the path now and has started on the drive, he has 3 binbags half full of snow
now next to his recycling bin I keep looking out the window to spy on him (nothing better to do )

i have actually just lol at this, maybe he doesnt realise that snow menlts and that it cant be recycled or thrown away! very odd behaviour

Floopy21 · 13/01/2010 11:00

WHAT? The Council doesn't recycle snow?! Then what am I paying all that tax for...

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/01/2010 11:01

Just remembered I was at my friends in south London last week and we saw an enormous dumper truck driving up the A20 full of snow. It actually was just snow too.

auntilin · 13/01/2010 11:07

Idon't think thats odd.. infact i was going to do this myself, the thing is my neighbour has dumped all hid snow on the path!
I can't get past with out going on the road, i think that is so inconsiderate, why did he not put it in his garden???

auntilin · 13/01/2010 11:08

His snow

PirateJelly · 13/01/2010 11:09

Maybe there's a demand for it TDWP that we don't know about??? I might go out and start collecting it myself, see what I can get for it on ebay

How's this for the advertisment?

5 bags of snow only 2 weeks old, some brand new (without tags). Nice and cold, good quality organic, would make lovely feature in any garden. White only.

MadreInglese · 13/01/2010 11:35

How bizarre

Could you even lift a bin bag full of snow?

TheCrackFox · 13/01/2010 11:51

Maybe he is going to pop all the snow in his chest freezer? Come July he will treat himself to a massive snowball fight.

ShinyAndNew · 13/01/2010 11:52

Maybe he is planning on sending to some snowless children so that they can build snowmen like all their friends?

PirateJelly · 13/01/2010 11:55

To be fair Madre I think he has taken that into consideration as the binbags are only half full

What's making me laugh though is today is supposed to be bin day, after them not coming since before christmas because of the snow. There has been much debate on the street as to whether they will take the normal bin which they missed last week or the recycling which it's the week for. Just wondering what the bin men will make of his bags of snow I mean he can't have actually put them there to be collected can he? Would they take them? If they don't, what will he do with them? (I clearly need to get out more )

Shiny he'd have to send it quite far, as this area is covered in the stuff. How would he transport it anyway ,surely it would melt in the boot of his car?

OP posts:
gtamom · 13/01/2010 13:53

Go out and ask him, (I would)

Pikelit · 13/01/2010 14:02

If he tries to Freecycle this snow, tell him to ignore the hard-luck stories (have separation anxieties if kept away from Fracture Clinic) and give it to the first person who sends a grammatically pleasing email.

SeaGreen · 13/01/2010 20:39

maybe he wants to build a ginormous snowman in his back garden.

Heqet · 13/01/2010 20:42

putting snow in bin liners?
trimming hedges with scissors?

Does he have ocd or mental health problems? What's he like when you talk to him?
