when he eventually drags himself away from PS3 and realises I am wearing PJs, dressing gown and ridiculous slippers with pompoms on?

Apologies - poorly judged thread, just so incredibly bored with the banal threads on MN tonight. Surely somebody has done something more interesting than follow trolls about?
Can't seem to find anything of the usual light and humourous MN that is so oft around this time of night

My slippers have got pompoms on too

hbfac · 11/01/2010 23:01

Are they Cath Kidston pom pom slippers?

will he not be charmed by your witty sartorial referencing back to an imaginary age of cosy domesticity, and read into the pom poms a subtle rebuke at his oh-so 21st century seduction by technology, rather than the allure of an age of intensive domestic labour and less sophisticated (but so much more valuable ) pleasure?

hbfac · 11/01/2010 23:02

I need light-hearted distraction too. the washing-up awaits otherwise.

twinmam · 11/01/2010 23:05

hbfac

lol hbfac
if it wasn't so late I'd try to quote that at dh!

Nothing so highbrow as Cath Kidston slippers I'm afraid.
ds3 likes to stroke the pompoms which he seems to think are 2 new small furry household pets (he's 2)

That's so cute.

Maybe it's a bit like giraffes - the babies recognise the pattern on their mum's tummies - I guess because they see it more often than her face. The pom pom is a little bit of you where he can stroke it.

Though I'm sure your ds3 sees your face ... but you see what I mean ... maybe.

My dd loves soft things. I think it's because when I was in hospital with her she used to stroke a ribbon on my nightie as she fed. I like to think she associates it with her sense of me before she really knew who I was or could even really see me ... .

But maybe not.

are you ok hbfac?
The prospect of washing up is really getting to you, isn't it!

OP posts:
hbfac · 11/01/2010 23:14

Yes!

Sigh. I think I am going to have to slouch off towards the sink. Alas, even Cath Kidston pom pom-induced fantasy can't save me from my dislike of the washing-up. Nothing is going to save me!

It is a bit heavy on here tonight!

Hope you find some funny respondents, and I shall read through and smile after the plates.

I wouldn't hold your breath, I posted OP and nothing happened so I ended up thinking I must have really badly judged the thread title and in an attempt to be amusing ended up either offending or else everyone glanced at title and thought my thread was another troll so didn't bother reading it!
I'm tough, I can take it
Enjoy the dishes!

yes, on reflection, you may have a point - perhaps not the best night for that title - but, hey, I looked.

Have a good night!

displayuntilbestbefore · 11/01/2010 23:22

Who knew people would take titles so seriously
oh well! Night.
