Does Makka-pakka have OCD?

I get very annoyed by the Night Garden.... I know its a childrens programme and we should treat everyone the same, but to have a character who collects stone and puts them in piles, and washes them, and all his friends faces - compulsively - annoys me. Thankfully my kids are growing out of this DS is 4 and DD is 2. So the question is does he have OCD? Upsy Daisy's singing leaves something to be desired - trying to encourage my children not to scream - and there so goes 'singing' - AARRRGGGHHH!!!!

Feel better for that - what do you think?

Yes he is a bit. But as one of my friends pointed out, a lot of toddlers are rather OCD, so it makes sense

notnowbernard · 07/01/2010 18:08

I like the way he has a breast on his bottom

PeachyRingsInTheOld · 07/01/2010 18:09

Yes he clearly does, or an ASD.

and what if he does? so do rl people.

Though BIL never slept through his toddler years without a screwdriver so (avoiding natural debate on MIL's care skills) it snot unusual for toddlers to be likethat.

Bugger it. That's where DD (2.4) gets her OCD tendencies from Thank God she now says, don't want to watch this when it comes on now. Peppa Pig is far more chilled about things

my dh is always saying that about him!

I worry about how mildewy that sponge smells.

lucyellensmumagain · 07/01/2010 19:20

when the night garden came out DD and i loved it, but now when it comes on there is a communal OHHHH NOOOOOO not that rubbish!! i swear it drives me to distraction - you know how it is, you are trying to get dinner done, flitting in and out between occuping DCs and all you can hear in the background are those fucking tombliboos bashing away at the piano like some sort of epileptic cat - i could kill sometimes!!

pigletmania · 07/01/2010 19:48

Yes MP is very ocd and annoying, gosh taht sponge needs a good wash as it must be so dirty and unhygenic washing everyones faces and not washing it in between washes and just plonking wet sponge back on his og pog

PeachyWillNeverVoteBNP · 07/01/2010 19:52

I love it when people criticise MP for OCD as a fictional character, then go on to comment about the hygiene of his fictional sponge.....

pigletmania · 07/01/2010 19:56

Just noticed and somthing that has got on my nerves for quite a while lol. well its true isent it really, never see him using different sponges for differnt faces, like a sponge for IP, one for UD, one each for the TBs etc

pigletmania · 07/01/2010 19:57

Its the undercover OCD in me he he

slng · 07/01/2010 20:05

LOL at dilemma being reminded of bacon sandwiches by Peppa Pig!

angels3 · 11/01/2010 16:55

Thanks for making me laugh about it, watching INTG again will bring about a new viewing experience for me! Thankfully my DS who is 4 does go - OH NOOOO get it off! but by DD who is 2 is still a sometimes convert, so about another 6 months or so and it will be banished from the house!

Was thinking about this - perhaps a little to in-depth - but all the merchandise is aimed at the older child and mine are nearly passed it - so when we wanted the PJs etc they were all too big. We had a lot of ITNG for christmas last year, and was hoping that we didn't get any this year as children will say exactly what they think and to hell with the relatives who bought the stuff!
