Selling argument

Was selling something on a local site. 2 people (H and D) replied at the same sort of time asking for a price. I told them both a price, and said there was 2 people interested but whoever replied first with a definate yes would get it.

H then replied straight away and D 10 mins later. So I told H she could have it. D is now kicking off saying this isn't fair and I have messed her around etc etc.

What do you think? I thought I had been fair as I told them where they stood with somebody else being interested etc?

Sounds fair to me but can understand that D is disappointed in not getting the deal but thats no reason to be shitty to you about it, you made it clear.

Yes, you have been fair.

Just email D, say that you told her that there were 2 people interested and you would sell to the first person to confirm and that person wasn't her.

Just ignore it IMO. Some people think anything that doesn't suit them is "unfair". If you want to reply then say something along the lines of "What a pity you missed this one, I hope you manage to find another one soon."

Thanks. I think I just worry more because she is a regular on that site and so am I and don't want bad feeling.

Have double checked my messages to her and can't see why she would think I would save it for her.

Oh well! thanks for the replies anyway - like to know I am not in the wrong!

You have been more than fair. I wouldn't worry. Bad sport
