Yes def too soon, all the children are still giddy from Xmas and I'm not hacked off with work enough yet to fully appreciate a child less school tomorrow

traceybath · 06/01/2010 18:39

I'm definitely having a glass of wine in half an hour once dc's in bed.

And have spent money online as bored.

the dds went sledging with assorted mates today. Dd2 said she didn't really want to but she might as well keep busy and it's about the only think to do in this weather

ShutUpandDrinkYourGin · 06/01/2010 18:52

I am desperate for day to myself in the house

Have been looking after DP's mum at her house as she has had chest infection (and other existing conditions exacerbated by chest etc) . Came home yesterday and was looking forward to a few days to sort stuff and Be Alone before back to work on saturday.

DP is a teacher and looks likely he will be at home for the rest of the fucking week. He gets time to himself when I work on weekends. Have persuaded him to take godson out in snow tomorrow.

bibbitybobbitysantahat · 06/01/2010 18:57

Are you really that snowed in?

Why don't you go out?

Sounds horriffic.

My two have been back at school for two days. Looking dubious for tomorrow, mind.

SleepingLion · 06/01/2010 19:03

This was the plan this week.

DH and DS return to school on Tuesday. SleepingLion, whose swanky school doesn't start back until next Monday (well, Sunday actually but that would be a whole other thread - my school and their fondness for working on Sundays ), was going to spend FOUR DAYS marking, baking and generally wafting (I like your word, ClickNegg).

I marked, baked and wafted for two hours yesterday before I had to pick DS up from school and DH was home by lunchtime. And they've been here ever since.

GO AWAY! It is my alone time! This is why I work a six day week (and sometimes a seven day week - see above re. Sundays) during term time - so I can have my alone time at the beginning and end of terms!

overmydeadbody · 06/01/2010 19:10

Back at work and school today and it was bliss to be away fomr home and DS for a bit

Fingers crossed the school stays open tomorrow

ClickNegg · 06/01/2010 19:14

WE NEED TO WAFT

dh and i have run out of hting to talk about
NOW rl mate says the gym has been open

that si where I am going tomorrow if all still here

I beat you all!! 17th bloody November, DS2 came down with a chest infection which set off his asthma. He was off school for 2 weeks. On the 19th, DS1 was pushed over in the playground and got a very severe concussion and had to be off school for a week and a half. DS2 was back for 4 days when his chest infection came back, so he was off until the end of term. Then the monday before the holidays, DD got the chest infection. 23rd of December I came down with the chest infection. Monday all DC's went back to school, by lunchtime I was called to pick up DS1 as he had a bad ear infection. And now they've been off today (and I know DD's school is definately shut tomorrow). As far as I can work out, that's a grand total of seven and a half weeks non stop with at least one child at home. If I don't get some child free time soon, I'm going to book myself into the nearest mental hospital for a ruddy holiday!!

GrumpyWhenWoken · 07/01/2010 00:49

glad it's not just me that's in need of some space. I had it all planned, back to school Tues, house was clean (ish), settled down for a general laze on the sofa at 11 then got the call to collect them from school at 12.
Looks like we've more snow on the way too so I've optimistically placed a Tesco order for Sunday (not a chance!).

Just can't face another day of arguing to get each article of clothing on them to go out in the snow, then the drying out of the clothes when we come in..... repeat 4 times today...

I'm on day 4 of no cigs too, so I'm extra sepcially nice to be around
can I have some time out (that's 40 minutes please on my own, and no-one is to talk to me or even look at me)
