Tiny wish for DP to GO THE HELL BACK TO WORK!

DP has been playing computer games/watching films all through the Christmas break except for when we went to my parents' house. He does wear headphones, bless him, but the sound is still quite audible and he does rather like playing this game where you connect to friends' computers and can chat to them over the net while you play.

I am studying so I'm also on the computer (my netbook, on my lap on the sofa) a lot - but I am (er ... mostly) working!

Am I being unreasonable to get fed up with DP for constantly being glued to the computer? I know it's his holiday I just wish he'd find something else to do - so I didn't have to put up with constant flickering light from a computer screen and random bursts of conversation to his friends.

Yanbu.
I find grown ups playing computer games a bit pathetic tbh. (says she on an iinternet forum talking to strangers!)

he sounds like a teenager.but if im not mistaken you are on mumsnet which is an internet site on the pooter!

my dh went back to work today after having 3 weeks off after an op.i actually do miss him!and ive realised that he actually does alot around the house when hes here! i had to cook dinner and everything!

cheesesarnie · 03/01/2010 20:34

actually its not just an internet site.its real life.

Nickytwotimes - I naturally tend to agree with you. I don't get what it is with computer games - why don't they just invite people round and have a civilized conversation face to face? But then I'm aware of how much time I can waste spend curled up with another predictably-plotted book or window shopping for something I don't need, so I try to tell myself that I shouldn't judge his habits.

I do miss him when he's not here, I just want him to respect the fact that his living room is my work environment.

I always want mine to go back to work! He sits and watches TV virtually 24 hours a day when he's here, also has headphones or I wouldn't be responsible for my actions! No such thing as an off button for him, just hours and hours of flicking through channels. I ask him to empty the bin and he gets shirty. There's plenty to do around the house, but he doesn't want to do it.

I do love him really, just I love him more when he hasn't got days and days of holiday

YANBU I am so looking forward to dh going back to work tomorrow. He had two weeks off and was so annoying, fussing about the house, fussing about dd, critising things, at least work keeps him busy and out of trouble
