as played tonight in Gavin and Stacey, was the song that was played at Scott and Charlene's wedding 23 years ago the other week, as DH seems to think I am sad to do so! Please tell me I am not the only one! In fact I even bought the single !

YANBU to recognise it by the chorus.

YA(little bit)U to recognise it in the first couple of bars like I did!

GossipMonger · 02/01/2010 12:44

I shrieked it at DH too about Scott and Charlenes wedding music! I had tears in my eyes!

Did you watch the G&S out-takes on BBC3 as well which was straight afterwards? Hilarious.

Scott and charlene are Kylie and Jason who were in Neighbours (23yrs ago!)

gobsmackedetal · 02/01/2010 12:45

23 years ago!!! How can that be?

I was 10 at the time and remember thinking that that horrible peach monstrosity was the lovliest dress I'd ever seen

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 02/01/2010 13:18

Can't believe I was able to sing the words

timelordvictorious · 02/01/2010 13:26

I got so excited. Was it really 23 years though? Surely I was older than four?

Portofino · 02/01/2010 19:27

Well it must have been 1988 and my flatmates bought me the single for Xmas! We all had hair like that at the time! It bought back mixed memories for me, as I was in Newcastle and loved it, but was a Uni drop out and just couldn't find a job.

I got my dad to drive up and fetch me. I was SO sad to go back down South but didn't know what else to do. I met DH to be several months later, though it took 10 years for us to get together.

I had it as my first dance at my wedding! It was kind of meant to be ironic, but actually I love it

PatTheHammer · 02/01/2010 21:35

LC200- You lucky thing, my DH vetoed it

bramblebooks · 02/01/2010 22:31

oh don't! it was 'our song' at our wedding ... I feel so bliddy ancient now.

wuglet · 02/01/2010 22:33

That was 23 years ago!! Fuck me I'm getting old...

(I named that tune in 2 as well!!)
