Suspect I am, clearly madness to have 18kids but they are all so nice to each other. Dad is in charge but doesnt tell people what to do. No one is moody, arsey or stroppy.

AIBU?

They probably all start throwing things at each other the minute the camera goes off

I'm sure with 18, nay 19 kids, you have to employ more subtle forms of child control otherwise everyone would just be screaming and shouting at each other. they do seem freakily well behaved, but they are quite religious so perhaps their good manners are a result of that?

I think I need lessons though, whatever their methids are!

husbandforsale · 21/12/2009 14:16

Love to see some outtakes of that then!

TOld my H that I wanted 18kids. He looked at me funny. ! Cant imagine why.

I'd love to have that house. I know a little girl who would be thrilled to have a slide inside the house. DD is only 15mo though so we have time to work on knocking through the lounge ceiling.

I do like the way they treat each other & am frankly amazed that they ever manage to get everyone dressed, fed & out of the house. They must be the most organised people in Arkansas.

I love watching them, some people like to give their two cents but they're completely self-sufficient, and the kids seem so polite.

I hope Michelle will think twice about more though after the latest premie

husbandforsale · 21/12/2009 14:50

LOL yes.

Im hooked on the multiple episodes this afternoon.

I don't have sky, so can't watch it.

Obviously there is a lot more to them than you see on the show, but if you judge just by the show, they are a delightful family.

The mom seems really honest about the realities of her life - about needing help when the children were younger and about struggling to cope. The teenage girls are just lovely - not at all frumpy as I used to think based on earlier productions.

The boys are all quite macho with their love of power tools, although dad is a bit with his passion for hairspray.

Somethings she does are just not for me - the lack of educational aspirations, and her assembly of prepared foods - but I'd be happy to take many leafs out of her book.

Was it the Duggars? I watched a programme on them a couple of years ago - was poised to ridicule and mock but actually was really impressed with their kids, they all seemed lovely.

husbandforsale · 21/12/2009 17:32

Yes this was the Duggars. I almost couldnt watch it at first but they are fab.

Although the hairspray things is WEIRD!
