to write true but slighty vicious comments about DDs father online for all to see?

I have recently started writing a parenting blog and want it to be honest and thought provoking, but I'm not sure how far I should take it.

slummysinglemummy.wordpress.com/

I have two girls, 7 and 14, and although I wouldn't actively encourage it they could potentially both read it, as could their fathers, should I write about them.

I would never lie or be deliberately or unreasonably hurtful, but some of my parenting frustrations are bound to involve them and their repsective Dads - how much is ok to share??

Hmmm....

So it's ok for my kids to read online about my sex life then??

Looks like I'm going to need to get someone round to 'service my bolier' for a bit of inspiration....

You will need a pseudonym if you go the boiler route, definitely

twynkle · 19/12/2009 19:42

Ooh yes! I could 'Boiler de Jour'

Sorry, that was POOR

The trouble with blogs is that they almost always:

(a) try too hard
(b) come across as horridly precious
(c) mortally embarrass friends and family

Now if you make enough money to turn embarrassment to material gratification then fine. Unfortunately, loopy Liz Jones has the monopoly on that particular trick and it'll take more than wanting to be a journalist to upset her apple cart.

I like Boiler Du Jour. It does make you sound a bit of a heifer though...

The older one knows about it, and is totally uninterested in a very teenage way, but the younger one is too young - she doesn't go online other than to occasionally play on cbeebies.

Lol, yes Boiler de Jour doesn't exactly conjour up SEXY images...

It will only remind you of the things that made you angry, and you'll go around feeling angry all day. It might seem that it would be cathartic, but will it really be? Or would it feel even worse if (as is a pretty sure-fire thing, given the nature of the internet) you got some negative feedback to your blog?
