Don't want to AIBUBStealth so
Last few days of Borders closing down sale before they are all out of a job.
Loads reduced massively.
Mahoosive queue.

Blokey in front of me queueing for about half an hour gets to till to be told his book is a pound.
-A pound? I just queued half an hour for that!
-Well we are really busy, sorry.
-Well you should have a special queue for people without much stuff.
-Well that's not really fair on everyone else.
-(starting to shout and point) That's terrible customer service, don't you care about what we think?
-To be honest, sir, no, I couldn't care less, the store is closing down.
-(splutter) what? where is your manager? I want to complain!
-She won't care either. Now do you want this book or not?
-(pays while muttering about awful customer service and rude staff) I'm not coming here again.
-Fine by me!
-Well I think your attitude is disgusting
-Do you know what? You can kiss my arse.

Customer storms out.
Entire queue laughs. Myself and a couple of others cheer and her fellow staff all join in.

Poor girl was shaking and white afterwards, he was so aggressive. I told her she should have taken his book back and refused to serve him for the hahas.

Ooh, it was satisfying to watch though!

She could have said "oh you're absolutely right sir, that will be £15.99"

I will miss ours too - best place in town for coffee if you have a pram in tow

I did tell the lady in the sorting office this morning how much I appreciated their special longer opening hours for Christmas though...

Well, I'm going to go against the tide and say YABU. The woman still had a job to do and should have respected her paying customer.

Was in my borders yesterday and it was really sad,the staff were in great form though and did get several bargains but sadly had my last gingerbread latte until another starbucks opens up,which am sure it will

Some people are just idiots. I worked in a lovely family run bookshop for about 13 years. Really quaint and went the extra mile for the customers. One day some idiot bloke came in and just started shouting his head off at me because we didn't have a book in that he wanted. I was young and scared if I said anything I would lose my job. Luckily for me a number of other customers had heard him and told him what a disgrace he was and how dare he talk to me like that. One told him to Fuck off to WHSmiths. I loved my customers for sticking up for me like that. Anyway, he then muttered something about he was in pain because someone had stood on his foot in the bank before he came into the shop and that was his excuse for being such a git! Oh that's ok then.

Good on her. I felt very sad lastyear in Woolies, some old bint next to me complained about having to put her (hugely reduced) Guitar Hero in a black bin bag as opposed to a carrier bag.

Felt very sorry for mostly middle aged women behind the counter having to work in that mad flurry of Christmas bargain greed whilst knowing they were out of a job before Christmas. There was an article in the local paper with several women who had never worked anywhere else.

Jack Woohoo!! Sorry I missed it now - I was in there until about 10 this morning. I spend far too much time in there and know all the staff in borders and starbucks.

So sad it couldnt be saved . Closing on tuesday.

Starbucks was packed as well, not sure what is happening to the staff as they are all really nice, much better than teh Morfa store staff...

I was working in Woolies last year when it went to the wall. Many similair exchanges occurred

Jack - I am trying to work out if I quite probably pass you by in there a lot . It is closing tuesday - staff have been split between Trostre, Morfa and town but only have their contracts guaranteed til end of Feb at the moment . Manager has to go to Cwmbran! Such a shame as they are absolutely fantastic and I love the store.

It is closing on tuesday at 6 pm - I will really really miss it as often hide out in there with my laptop instead of going to work and its part of the DC's weekend routine . It has a lot of regulars who will really miss it.

Eh ... he was complaining that is was a pound?! Bloody hell, I'd happily queue for that!
