Nevermind if they don't WANT to, or have no talent at it. They just SHOULD!!! Its a damned inconvenience to everyone else if they don't, and I'm annoyed at all the women who don't knit.

I mean, I have a friend who doesn't knit, and I think her life must be so, so, limited. Imagine only having the choice of shop bought.

Unbelieveable!!!

I imagine knitters to be 90 year olds or moaning minnies - which one are you @purpleduckUnderTheMistletoe Grin

Enjoy your knitting. I rather stick the needles in my arms that sit there plodding along. I may change my mind when I am in a nursing home but until then - no way, no chance. I also don't want 100's of cats.

Oh @FanciedanewnameAnne you could not be MORE wrong about knitting.

Lots of celeb knitters - Ryan Gosling, Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Sarah Jessica Parker. Michelle Obama learned in the first lockdown.

It's fine not to want to knit, there are lots of things I wouldn't like to do either (bungee jumping, cycling, origami) but it's a bit much to say all knitters belong along with the centenarians in a care home.

And who cares if it's a zombie thread.

Ehh was so confused when I got tagged in this thread.... I probably haven't knitted since this thread Grin

@purpleduckUnderTheMistletoe What a load of nonsense.

No-one NEEDS to be able to KNIT fgs. It costs a bloody fortune and lots of time to make something that you can pick up for a quarter of the price in a shop.

Do it as a hobby, yeah sure... But no-one NEEDS to be able to knit.

Also, as a few posters have said, why just women? Hmm

I suppose you think all WOMEN should be able to cook too eh?

What if I said all WOMEN should be able to draw and paint, and be brilliant at art? That would sound daft.

Well so does 'all WOMEN should be able to knit.'

Oh BOLLOCKS. It's a fecking ZOMBIE thread. Confused

Seriously mumsnet, please make it so that no-one can post on a thread that hasn't been posted on for 12 months or more!
