To think my DH should be slowing down

And spending more time with me?

I hardly see him at the moment. He is so busy and won't say no to any orders even though he is getting on a bit now . It's like his work is his life and he doesn't care about anything else.

We live rurally, and are a bit cut off really. There are others around here, but they are a close knit community and I feel quite different to them all.

If I try to talk to him about it he just says vaguely that he will take some time off next year.

Mary, perhaps you need to develop better relations with the rest of your community. I get the impression that you feel you're in some way above them....

MaryClaus · 16/12/2009 18:59

I don't know if there is any counselling around here. I'm sure they would all tell me the only therapy is to work hard all day. They seem to think work is play.

You don't need counselling, only you can make this work. If you followed my advice you would have this half way sorted by now.

You are beginning to sound like you have brought this upon yourself.

MaryClaus · 16/12/2009 19:02

What could I get him then? He's the original man who has everything. Well he could if he wanted to anyway.

I think you need to get the hell out of Lapland. Leave him to look after the elves for the weekend, that'll soon straighten him out.

FabIsGettingReadyForChristmas · 16/12/2009 19:03

I have reread the op.......

Can't believe you have all jumped to the conclusion that this is a windup. I thought MN was better than that.

MaryClaus · 16/12/2009 19:05

Well, I didn't fool anyone really did I?

GrimmaTheNome · 16/12/2009 19:05

Something about this doesn't add up... Mary, I am beginning to suspect your DH doesn't exist at all.

EdwardDantes · 16/12/2009 19:06

What do you mean Mary...?

MaryClaus · 16/12/2009 19:07

No, you have to believe in him, everything will go wrong otherwise!

OP posts:
EdwardDantes · 16/12/2009 19:12

Well you should go and pleasure your REAL husband and buy him that big present. He's not that far away....

EdwardDantes · 16/12/2009 19:13

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

MaryClaus · 16/12/2009 19:15

Thank you Edgar and others for making me laugh, it was my first (and shall remain only I think) attempt at humour. And I was sussed instantly. Ho hum.
