Been sorting out Christmas for a while, started buying little gifts very early on and have things for most people (not expensive things just token gifts).

I planned to put a few quid away each month towards the christmas food shop, but Christmas seems to have flew round!

My Gran hass given us a money envelope each and always puts a tenner in for each of us, Would it be really bad to use the £50 towards the food shop?

DH and I would use our £!0s toards paying something off after Xmas anyways, and the kids have so much stuff (my mum goes mad at Christmas!) and they really don't understand money or are interested in it.

Their money always goes straight into their own accounts but would a tenner be so bad just this Christmas?

Im sure they would apppreciate nicer Xmas food over the week than knowing they will be £10 richer when it comes to their 18th birthday!

Yay! Glad it got there safely.

Deffo use it - I'm sure she'd be pleased, even though you don't have to say anything. Presents aren't just what you wrap up, it's what you give (omg that was sooo cheesey, but you get what I mean?!?)

Do it.

It is fine. My Dad made me realise this last year when I had NO money but someone gave my 4 year old 60 quid! He asked me if my dd would be happy with a sad skint Mummy. He was right so we used her money to pay for Xmas dinner and put the money back in her account once I had a bit more money.

They will get it back as we are totally sorting our finaces after christmas and will be setting up small payments into their banks each month, so can view it as a loan
