Why do they feel the need to piss about with thier schedule so much.

In a morning, if I turn on Cbeebies at 8am, DS and DD can watch Timmy Time and Chuggington while I get washed and dressed, but they have now replaced it with Teletubbies, so the last two mornings I have had them hanging round my ankles in the bathroom.

Its the same at lunchtime, when DS comes back from preschool we watches the same two shows, now its been replaced with Nuzzle and Scratch (which is the worst show ever!) DS wouldnt eat his lunch.

Why have they taken two good programmes off the air to replace it with this shite

(Actually the reason is they are trying to flog thier DVD's and so they pull the programme off the air in the hope that parents will therefore go out and but the DVD's)

another vote for sky plus! Added benefit that you can pause it and fast forward over scary bits. I must admit though that not having TV on while eating has made meal times easier (we made this change for technological rather than moral reasons when we moved house btw )

If you are really desperate and, like me don't have a fast enough connection for iplayer, itunes has loads of stuff for kids. Bizarrely, I don't have any trouble downloading stuff from itunes although iplayer is impossible.

MarioandLuigi · 15/12/2009 19:24

We have Sky+, but its too late now they have taken it off the air completely

DS has autism and is a very fusy eater, plus he doesnt like to be crowded. We do sit down tea times which involve him ignoring or throwing his food, trying to climb out of his high chair and screaming. I let him have his lunch in front of the TV because he is so transfixed by it he seems to eat without noticing he is eating.

Today he had no lunch - wouldnt eat at all

And I cant believe no one likes Chuggington

my dd1 loves Chugginton btw Mario got her a little stocking filler book from M&S about £2 I think..

I wish they'd change the evening schedule though ITNG won't hold her attention anymore.

notcitrus · 15/12/2009 19:48

I like Chuggington! Much better than bloody Thomas T. Tank Engine...

Ds likes Igglepiggle and sometimes will watch Show Me Show Me if it's on but so far ignores everything else. Only problem so far is MrNC complaining the TV recorder is full of ITNG and Timmy Time that he has to scroll through to find his stuff. Maybe he'll program in a folder for ds over Christmas...

Deanna1977 · 15/12/2009 20:00

DS loves Chugginton too. He does a little dance when it comes on!

crankytwanky · 15/12/2009 21:51

I wondered why DS was talking about teletubbies this morning.

(DH was supervising him while I showered.)

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 15/12/2009 22:16

teletubbies is back?? WOO!!!! [fucking time emoticon]

now, TIKKABILLA please?

NoseyNooNoo · 15/12/2009 22:24

Can someone tell me when Nuzzle & Scratch is on? I hate it with a passion and don't want to accidentally turn it on and have DC's wanting to watch it - whilst I poke out my own eyes!

Happyneverafter · 15/12/2009 22:28

I don't think you need to explain why you have the TV on in the mornings and at lunchtime.

JjandtheBean · 15/12/2009 22:30

imovethestarsfornoone- petition?? im with you!

claraquack · 15/12/2009 22:32

While we are at it, is Kerwhizz back on in the UK yet? We are desperately waiting for it to be back on iplayer as it is one of my dd1's favourites.

littleducks · 15/12/2009 22:41

Fun with phonics doesnt appear to be back

acebaby · 15/12/2009 22:45

MarioandLuigi - wasn't trying to be judgey about TV. It's on here the rest of the time, and would be at meal times if we had sorted out our wiring. It must be particularly tough for you and your DS when beebies swaps things round.

I like chuggington by the way. DS (4yo) claims it is too babyish though .

ILikeLentils · 15/12/2009 23:02

We series record all the crucial stuff on our BT Vision box, which I think is probably "freeview +".

And then we watch stuff on iPlayer on the wii.

Children love Chuggington. I can't bear it.

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 15/12/2009 23:02

JjandtheBean - I actually emailed cbeebies and made an official complaint to the bbc when they cancelled Tikkabilla and Teletubbies in the same week.

Haooyneverafter - DS watches TV in the morning after breakfast and before his nap, and then watches Something Special when he wakes up (as he is usually grouchy and floppy for 30 mins) Nothing wrong with that.

JjandtheBean · 17/12/2009 14:13

i had to pay stupid amounts of money for a dvd when they cancelled, my two aren't that into tv but teletubbies works for peace with dd and tikkabilla is great for ds! it was sheer torture when they went!
