address, you should be able to figure out how to spell their name correctly? I have just received an email starting with (kind of) "Dear SerenityKnow ..."
I've had this problem before. Someone else would email me, but use completely the wrong name in the email.

AIBU to respond with "Dear Idiot Who Can't Spell"

Hmmmm ... it's not funny in German, but in Russian. May not be the name you're thinking of.

yeah, it is annoying.
i'm always being addressed by the boy's version of my name!

saintnickelas · 15/12/2009 12:24

oh, and everyone adds an 'n' to my surname: fgs: it's 3 letters!! (and one syllable!) why do they try to make it harder than it is???

even when i spell it out to them (name, n a m e) they put the extra 'n' on it!!

Iklboodolphtherednosereindeer · 15/12/2009 12:24

I'm also cheesed off with this. I send emails with my name in the address, I sign the emails with my name at the bottom ans they still spell it wrong on the reply. It's not as if it's a difficult name to spell either . Bloody ride IMHO

My name constantly gets spelt wrong, even when I've sent a message where I've spelt it out. I never point it out, but it does drive me mad.

I fail to understand why, when one's surname is one of only four compass points, it should cause such difficulty and consequent creative interpretation.
