that MN makes people testy and irritable?

By 'people' I mean me specifically

Been here for years and have always tried to be nice. 'Nice' is actually my default setting. But I started two threads in the last fortnight that have managed to wind people up. And there is a little part of me that sort of knew they would .

Is it an inevitable condition of long-term use of MN?

Or am I just getting old and crabby?

zazen - menopause might be it I guess. I've sort of got used to the idea of middle-age and am dealing with it in my own way. Dad's op worried me for a long time and I guess knowing how fragile people are has shaken me a little.

I think the difference is that while I still think the world is a wonderful place and the vast majority of human beings are basically decent, I have got less tolerant of those who don't get up and get on with it! Life being so short.

Orm - like I said on the thread, it was quite obviously messing about and no one else took real offence. Don't worry, and no flouncing!

Although I am going to throw this laptop out the window after jumping up and down on it for being so damn slow!

Orm, I know EXACTLY what you mean. I try to be helpful when people are asking for advice etc but do get a bit wound up when they moan on about something (eg having no money) then when you suggest they might possibly, you know, phone Tesco and see if they have a job going, they post another 50 posts explaining why they couldn't possibly, and just carry on moaning.

I was 100% with you on the wimpy wife one yesterday and I don't think you're being unnecessarily unpleasant, you're just telling it as it is!

This place is ok if you're in the mood. If you're feeling sensitive or snappy it magnifies everything.

One way to be on here less is to move the pc. Dh has moved ours to the conservatory and it's so blimmin cold out here I can't use it for long without turning blue.

Oh and Orm - that thread about the daft happporth wife - am so with you on that. I think the people who disagreed with you got the wrong end of the stick tbh.

TsarChasm - I like the new name, actually I saw you in your bendy Bob guise on another thread (I think a make up one iirc) and the name made me larf. Of course I always agree with everything you say

They were very bodenite about it, a few got excited about it then I revealed it was a fib and it wasn't mentioned, like a bad fart in a lift. I'm sure they were faces pulled at home though.

I do somtimes get the devil in me - say in the periodic mum and tots parking bays in supermarkets scrap thread, I always post something on the lines of 'I always park my 2 seater sports car in the M&T parking spaces' and wait for the insutlts to come winging my way.

But am childish twat, if truth be told.

I do think however that a long time spent on MN makes you certainly less sympathetic on the dafter types of threads, like years ago I was probably a bit meeker with my responses, nowadays I am more bullish and say it like it is with no embellishment.

I swear a lot more than I used to as well.

I think I'm a bit fed up of the whole place TBH, I've done a uturn and just tend to take the piss a bit and mostly post on style and beauty now googling 'sparkly tights' and what not.
