to be depressed about turning 30?

I'm in my last week of being a twenty-something and am having a bit of a wobble!

Is it a big deal or do I just need a slap?

Having a crisis about turning 30 is such a cliche! This is what I told myself when it happened to me (nearly two years ago now - yikes) and it did help. I was determined to be positive about it and not bore on to everyone about how scary and depressing it was (unlike my friend F, who'd been obsessing about it since she was 28 or something, and is now, at 34, going on about how she's practically 40)

You can't do anything about getting older - unless you meet some tragic premature end, it's just going to keep happening. The only thing you can do is try to keep it in perspective. I know it isn't easy, but if you can manage it, it'll save you a lot of bother.

My life was shot in my 20s. All I did was study, live alone and basically lead a sad hermit-like existence with very few friends. (long hours in a laboratory).

Within months of turning 30 I met my husband who completely whisked me off my feet and without a word of a lie changed my life and me overnight We've been married 7 years, have 2 gorgeous boys and my 30s have been the best 10 years of my life. I turn 40 in just over a year and can't wait to be truly 'grown up'

YABU - 30s are the new 20s etcetcetc

I turned 30 in june so I know how you feel. It's a bit wierd but you get used to it.

Happy birthday to you two 40 yr olds! what are your plans??

YABU its not that bad, wait til you're 35 and your tits are so droopy you have to tuck them in your knickers, then you'll have something to moan aboat!

YABU - turning 30 is hard, but certainly beats the alternative.

Growing older is a privilege, IMO.
