aarantly i signed a form when she joined the school to say that she can be seen my medical ersonel at school.

I have no problem with this. but today she came home with a sealed envelope, inside it was some medical form i could barely understand. I was most confused.

After studying it, it turned out she had obviously been seen for some routine screening programme at school and this was the result of that screening.

now aart from the fact that this form was the very first thing i knew about this visit, even her teacher didnt say anything to me when i collected her. They also have a coule of her details wrong and they have stated she needs observation for her seech and language! her S&L is fine, she is just incredibly shy and so probably spoke very quietly if at all.

Now whilst i would have been more than happy for her to have seen the Dr, i feel i should have at least been informed about it before hand so that i could at least have let her know that someone would be seeing her.

Normal I think. The teacher might not have even known - the screenings could have been during the lunch hour.

YANBU to be annoyed that you cant understand the form sent home.

YABU to be annoyed that they didnt send home a letter, you have already given permission as you said. The school where I work doesnt send home letters for this type of thing, becasue all the parents sign and agree in advance, we do however put it on the list of diary dates.

Did all the children in the class have the check? If so, did you expect the teacher to tell just you, or each of the 30 parents individually?

Why would you need to let her know in advance that someone might be seeing her at school? Surely that is part and parcel of the school day - not a doctor, necessarily, but various professionals.

im not sure whether anyone else was seen. the letter was put inside her book bag so i didn't see it u ntil we got home and we got her book out to read.

I wold have been happy if they had just put a note on the weekly newsletter informing us the Dr would be in at some point in the week.

At least let us know it was likely.

Dd's school always lets us know about anything like this and we are always told we can come in and be with them whilst the check with the gp takes place.

our schools always send the forms home for you to sign and say you are ok for them to be seen by a doctor without you present.
