at mucky poetry.

Iused to b horrified at that word and get all indignant.
But i have read the many interesting discussions on MN about use of language and now do question why the last taboo word is female genitalia.

I am trying to be intellectual about it but still rarely use it at coffee mornings

Iklboo · 09/12/2009 14:15

To use taboo words for vagina
You'd have to have quite a lot of front
Save yourself trouble and the risk of angina
Just proudly shout out the word 'cunt'
If you find such a word quite distasteful
And some words are really just that
Please don't be syllably wasteful
Instead you can just holler 'twat'

Poppity · 09/12/2009 14:24

You're one talented cunt (in the reclaimed sense obviously)

Iklboo · 09/12/2009 14:24

IQuibbleThereforeIAm · 09/12/2009 18:31

I have fudge to make.
I don't have time to creat a joyous and encouraging cunt.

Pagwatch, I think I love you.

pennyrain · 09/12/2009 18:55

I think "cock" is worse

pennyrain · 09/12/2009 18:57

The word that is

Kaloki · 09/12/2009 19:02

I don't get the big deal about that word. If any of you ever get the chance, go see a burlesque performer called Mysti Vine do her Vagina routine. It's brilliant!

Cunts are lovely.

However, lots of people are horrible.

teameric · 09/12/2009 20:01

Kaloki I am most intrigued about Mysti Vines Vagina routine, I do love a bit of burlesque (would love to be as glam as Dita.)

Don't people generally use the term cunt in a negative way when slating somebody else? THAT is why I detest it..........However I have used it occasionally in an "adult" setting!

tethersxmasbellend · 09/12/2009 21:37

Cunt is not a terrible word...

It's the best word for a bad thing.

I am proud to have one.

OrmIrian · 09/12/2009 21:41

Oh I thought it said 'that some people are right'. Was hoping for a sudden pre-christmas burst of unanimity.

SHould have known better

poshsinglemum · 09/12/2009 22:12

it's a horrid word for horrid people. i use it only for real scumbags.

Kaloki · 09/12/2009 22:32

"Kaloki I am most intrigued about Mysti Vines Vagina routine, I do love a bit of burlesque (would love to be as glam as Dita.)"

She's fantastic isn't she? And just as beautiful in the flesh, her skin is flawless!!

CardyMow · 10/12/2009 00:12

My friend refuses to have that word said in her house, her offered replacement word is tree, which was odd at first, but it's now a standing joke that if someone has annoyed us, that they are being tree-ish.

Fruitysunshine · 10/12/2009 00:25

Arrrggghhh - NEW use for the word tree!

WickedWench · 10/12/2009 00:27

It's a great word. Proper Anglo Saxon Olde English.

It used to be considered acceptable to have streets in Medieval towns and cities called 'Grope Cunt Lane' yup, the Red Light areas of yore. Grape Lane I think those still in existence are now called.

A similar expression is quim but it really doesn't hold up as a term of abuse. I much prefer cunt when the situation/person demands it.

claw3 · 10/12/2009 00:38

Strange how calling someone a prick or a dick are mild in comparison, why is the male equivalent less offensive?

WickedWench · 10/12/2009 00:53

This is only a guess but I reckon it's to do with emasculating men.

They are mostly so wrapped up in their own genitals - the size, length, girth, staying power etc - that to describe them as the slang for female genitals just undermines their masculinity completely.

I could be and am probably wrong tho!
