AIBU?

to think that Liverpool and Everton should just shut up and share a stadium?

That's it. They've both got problems.

Sharing a stadium like the Milan clubs and the Rome clubs and the Munich clubs, is the answer.

Which side would hate the idea more? Liverpool, surely?

I would think both would hate the idea with great passion Belfast, although I can only speak as an Evertonian.

Out of interest - why do you assume Liverpool?

Glad to see you're on the right side of the park Clary

I think Liverpool might be more obsessed with measuring themselves against Man Utd.

Whereas Evertonians have gone through the long process of adjusting to the idea of a new stadium, with several setbacks. The disappointments along the way might make them more receptive to innovative ideas.

From my visit to Anfield, didn't Liverpool start off in the very early days at the Everton Stadium when it was just a working mens club and then gave it to Everton when they moved to Anfield? YABVU - there would be blood shed, fans of both those teams are die hard. Their passion and loyalty for their teams is unmatched, think it would start WW3 if even suggested. (LFC fan)

Everton would never share a stadium with Liverpool, the fans are far to bitter, i know Evertonians who wont drive red cars, wear red clothes or drink carlsberg, they are bitter to the core

I should know i have had it all my life, i have yet to meet an Evertonian who is not bitter

I dont support either team btw, football is a load of shite

Other way round wobbly - Everton started off at Anfield

I take your point re L'pool and United Belfast, but that doesn't make Everton's passions any less ...

No amount of setbacks could convince me that a ground share with that jammy red shite could ever be a good idea!

lol Vinegar - yes I'm bitter - unlike most Liverpool fans who are just basically delusional

Like i say, i dont support either so your delusional dig is wasted on me

Wasn't a 'dig' at you - I read the part where you said you were neutral.

It was a wink at any Liverpool supporters reading the thread.

Apologies if that wasn't clear.

So true vinagartits.
In my opinion if Liverpool is big enough for 2 catherdrals, there is room for 2 stadia.

Finanatially I think it could potentially do more harm than good. Fans on both sides would give up their season tickets, Liverpool generally have more bums on seats, and could end up supporting Everton. I thing there could be trouble with sponsorship deals as well.

Apologies its been a long day

I'm glad that the Stadium build was refused in Kirkby though, last think i want to see when i look out my front door is a whooping great stadium and even worse, a bloody Tescos! i signed the residents petition against it

lol - I can imagine it wouldn't be the nicest sight to see for someone who doesn't like football!

I think most fans are more concerned with the team doing well to worry too much about the stadium.

But when I was at goodison yesterday there was a thick layer of mould on the toilet ceiling!

I'm a proud bitter blue- learnt from my dad he won't eat tomato ketchup it's too red! Ds is 2 and refuses to wear a red apron in nursery

inter hate the san siro and are looking to buy there own, its the same in rome and 1860 munich are of course loving it as the get to use a big new stadium that they dont fill and would have no chance of owning if it was nt for there well known rivals who get a bigger share of the money. in the long term, the mighty blues and the reds sharing a ground would never work. 50 years down the line if one team wanted to leave the other couldnt afford to be there on there own. coyb.

Your dad wont eat tomato ketchup? that is just bonkers! Liverpool didnt invent the colour red, and i certainly wouldn't want that type of thinking past on to a child, the mind boogles

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

Delusional Red here (trying to tell myself that our exit from the Champions League means we can devote more time to the Premiership...)

Not as bad as my bezzie mate, though, whose house was not allowed to be painted any colour other than red, all family pets had to be named after the players and neither her nor her sisters would countenance going out with anyone who supported Everton...

It would never work.
My (otherwise very sane and very lovely) mate who is a Man Utd supporter won't have a blue lighter for her fags........

Bonkers.

Spurs have Santa at Christmas wearing blue and white, because we all know Santa actually supports Arsenal.

we have them all in our family.

DH is a red
his brother in man u
his dad was Leeds
my side are all blue

Not to mention the Irish side, anything goes over there.

Honestly, I think it would be safer on the front line when they all get together

Our dog is called Shankley by the way

No, it's a crap idea. Liverpool would end up propping up Everton as the bitters rarely even sell out Goodison. What would they do with 70, 000 seats? Might be funny to see if they blame restricted views when they only get 35,000 in the new stadium though

Oh, and the Xmas half-season tickets are available Everton fans. Do you know how many are on the waiting list for a Liverpool season ticket? About 90,000 last time someone in our office checked. The disparity is huge and Liverpool would end up paying the most.

I'd rather stay at Anfield than share with that bunch of bitter bastards (although they were robbed on Sunday! )

S'gonna happen though

It's the only way either team will afford a new stadium and they both need the income from a bigger ground - Liverpool particularly - or it's all going to go tits up for them

The Kirkby plan was fugly as well

belfastbloke - i think you will find man u, usually measures themselves against us. and its a very bad idea, the "you'll never walk alone" phrase, does mean something, and all that would be taken away if we were to share.
