YANBU, they look like the ones i make and would probably charge about 10p a cake, bloody hell, sorry thats just madness, its like the lilly cole scarf for £140. Yes YABU if you pay for them. They do not look like they are anthing special, really something that a school child might bring home really.

Oooh, the Bradfords cupcakes look gorgeous, but the first ones with the smarties and jelly diamonds on top...looks like what my kids do, whilst I bite my tongue, dying to say 'how about just a cherry on this one' as they merrily pile everthing on. Do people really pay 30 quid for these?

I was scandalised enough when my sister paid £20 for a loaf-sized fruit cake one Christmas, but £30 for fairy cakes?? Some people must be utterly insane.

I have just made and decorted a batch way nicer than that for my dads over 60's group tonight. Sod it, I'm going to print out that page and charge them £60.

if you are in North Norfolk area, at the Kings Lynn College, there is a SN class that do baking, they make the damn best cakes I have tasted and they charge £1.20 for 12 cakes

OK so they're not cheap, but you're paying for the service. Imagine you had a friend who lived in another town and who'd been having a rough time for whatever reason. if you wanted to send her something to cheer her up, a box of cupcakes would be very thoughtful and no dearer than a bunch of flowers from Interflora. Admittedly they're fairly simple as cupcakes go, but that might be part of the charm for some people. I suppose you could make, package and send them yourself but that's by the by really.
Having said that, the Bradfords ones are cheaper I guess, but I think I prefer the dearer, less fussy ones.

I agree. Having received a copy of the catalogue through the post, I thought it should be renamed Not-On-The-Internet-Either-Much-Longer(-Especially-In-A-Recession).

It was the £30 gift for my cleaner that got me....., that and the £50 gift for my aunt they suggested.
