to have too much wine because I am worried about my dad's op and I am tired of driving up and down the A38 and tired of being worried?

I haven't slept for weeks and I have had enough.

Tomorrow he's having the op for better or worse and I don't want to think about it anymore.

I built a zook with DS#1, helped DS#2 with hw and now I'm going to quietly dissolve in a bottle.

Is that Ok?

Squilly So sorry.

Yes it's a nice enough road but the reason for the journey made it pretty miserable.

Northernlurker · 27/11/2009 19:17

Squilly - any road would be awful for you. Sorry to hear about your mum.

Ormirian - great that it went well. I suspect when you see him next even post op as he will be, he will look better than before because his heart will now be so much happier. We hadn't noticed how grey my Gramps had got until after his bypass when he was suddenly pink! Everybody is different of course though so it's hard to predict or know what to expect. Anything you're worried about just ask the nurses. They won't mind, it's their job to take care of you all and well informed relations help with the care of the patient.

Peachy · 27/11/2009 19:23

Go on and have plenty of wine Orm.And after all, that's a nasty drive even when times aregood.... let alone when youn are worried.

Sovery glad it went well, just amke sure it is nice wine- and in plentiful supply. And not the local special of white cider

OrmIrian · 27/11/2009 19:24

peachy - I was inoculated against any liking for cider at a young age thanks to Thatchers rat special

Peachy · 27/11/2009 19:33

Ah I had the oppsouie problem, BILs mates dad was on the board of and therefore I consumed much.

But I never do now, wine all the way (though I have been dancing to wurzels in the last week which is as bad no?)

OrmIrian · 27/11/2009 19:34

Oh peachy tis worse!

Peachy · 27/11/2009 19:47

Squilly so sorry . I remember making the trip with an ex whose dad later diedand it's so sould destroying. I hope you're not having to travel too far, I worked for a cancer charity in Taunton and the distances patients were travelling was simply wrong, they werelooking at it but no idea what happened.

squilly · 27/11/2009 20:02

Thanks all. My mum is 82, and she has to go with something (as she keeps telling us). I'm just torn between worrying how long she'll last and how quickly she'll go, iykwim.

You have to say, it puts the question on euthenasia in a different light when you watch someone who knows they have no hope fading away in front of your eyes.

Hey ho...no point worrying about the inevitable and sorry for the inadvertent hijack...Just off to bed with my dd for a cuddle.

Night all....

monkeyfacegrace · 27/11/2009 21:25

Peachy, are you pissed lady

VengefulKitty · 28/11/2009 00:37

Great news Orm. Glad to hear it all went well

Squilly - sorry to hear about your mum

And methinks Peachy is ratted

Buda · 28/11/2009 15:23

Hi Orm - hope your Dad is on the mend today.

OrmIrian · 28/11/2009 16:52

He looks dreadful. So frail and ill. And old. He couldn't speak that clearly and was quite dopey. Blood pressure kept falling very low and setting off alarms.

Not good.

OP posts:
bellavita · 28/11/2009 17:00

Have only just seen this Orm. Thinking of you, your dad and your family. x

Buda · 28/11/2009 17:10

On no Orm. I hope it is just a reaction to the op and the medication. Fingers crossed he will be much brighter tomorrow.

Peachy · 28/11/2009 19:14

Me? no I wasn't LOL but I do know Orm from way back if that explains it?

Orm just found out FIL is having heart surgery wednesday- only initial exploratory but at least it can be done at MPH and he will go from there. It never rains but it pours eh?

How is your Dad today?

Peachy · 28/11/2009 19:15

Sorry meant whats the doctors opinion of your dad today- are they worried?
