To think that at the age of three Suri Cruz should not be wearing heels.

Wrong on so many levels!

Anyone seen the pictures?

Vile to allow littlies to wear heels imho unless indoors playing 'dress-up' - they look wrong and can't be doing her feet/calves any good at all. Just horrible.

bibbitybobbityhat · 24/11/2009 22:24

She looks like a little girl in her best dressing up heels to me! Doubt she has walked very far - surely no one does in the States? My friends who live in Beverly Hills say they only wear their coats a few times a year. Most of the time its a cardi or a light jacket. California does not really have a winter as such, just slightly cooler weather (am assuming the Cruises live in California).

tallulahbelly · 24/11/2009 22:26

You are so right to be concerned and I for one am glad you highlighted this important issue.

It's not clear under what circumstances the picture was taken.

Could it be a dressing-up party or are her parents pimping her to paedophiles?

Who knows, so let's guess.

However, if you want to first with the news it might be better if next time:

(a) you didn't post so many days after the pix were up and;

(b) you got the kid's name right.

poshsinglemum · 24/11/2009 22:30

I thought that someone would have done a thread on this by now but I had to gather opinion to satisfy my own judgementalism!

My 1 year old put on one of my falt ballet pumps the other day and was walking round the lounge in it - twas very cute! She even tried on one of my heels in my room but there is no way I'd let her wear heels at three outside!

If anything it sexualises girls.Katie should really be firm on this even if Suri is strong willed. So what? Suri can look lovely without those revolting shoes.

flat sorry

Divatheshopaholic · 24/11/2009 22:31

they live in NYC, appaently

dooneygirl · 24/11/2009 22:31

A lot of the recent pictures are taken of the family in New York. Where it is cold in November. And you do a lot of walking. I wouldn't think much of it if it was just one picture, but being paparazzi targets, she's photographed on an almost daily basis, and is constantly sans coat and in heels. Like I said, the coat thing bothers me more, as everyone in the entourage is wearing a coat and dressed warmly except her.

RJRabbit · 24/11/2009 22:34

Not really something I would let a little girl wear.

Northernlurker, haven't you got a bit of a cheek pulling the op up on her spelling? When you typed "mispell", I think you really meant "misspell", "rehgarding" was probably "regarding" and "nig" I'm assuming means "big". I'm not usually one to feel the need to comment about spelling or typos but it was called for here I think.

poshsinglemum · 24/11/2009 22:34

OOOOoooooo Tallulahbelly- Did I get your back up?

I'm sorry I'm not fast enough for you.

I saw the pics weeks ago but I saw them in TODAYS issue of Grazia and was hence reminded of them! And quite horrified that Grazia was making it out to be a GOOD thing!

Everyone seems to be ''oh she's only dressing up and having a bit of fun.''

When it's presented like this it dosn't matter what context it's in. It just looks wrong - it looks like Katie has dressed her up to go out on a shopping trip like this.

I always get mixed up with Cruise and Cruz. Penelope Cruz was with with Tom Cruize at one point wasn't she?

Unless it's Suri Holmes- Cruise?!

OP posts:
poshsinglemum · 24/11/2009 22:37

Cruise sorry!

So confusing!

My DD's about the same age. There's no wobbler that she could throw that would ever get me to let her wear shoes like that.

And actually, at the age of three, shoes like that are just not on her 'desirable' radar, and I can't see why on earth they would be.

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 24/11/2009 22:58

I just googled suri cruise as I couldn't see the link, and found a US sleb site where they claim suri only eats using chopsticks

Sazisi · 24/11/2009 22:59

Christ

She's a kid who happens to like dressing-up clothes.

And - newsflash - some kids hate wearing coats - looks like she's one of them.
My DD3 hates wearing coats and anything on her feet. She's also very girly, whereas DDs 1 & 2 are quite tomboyish despite being brought up the same.

borderslass · 24/11/2009 23:04

definately not dress up shoes
here

borderslass · 24/11/2009 23:07

even worse

Northernlurker · 24/11/2009 23:28

Oh thanks RJ - please feel free to come take my keyboard away anyway for crimes against typos!

Of course imo there is a difference between a typo or three and getting a person's name wrong but hey you knock yourself out pointing out the typos. Tell you what - do a search on my posts, I'm always mssing ouy lettrs!

MrsMerryHenry · 24/11/2009 23:33

OMG. I thought this was a wind-up. All that money, and no common sense.

Unless those shoes have been photoshopped in???

Agree that there has to be a limit to which one will cave in to tantrums, and I would definitely say heels on a tot is way over the mark.

groundhogs · 24/11/2009 23:34

Handbags down ladies...

i heard that it's a scientologist thing, to dress the children as adults...

Heard also that Suri calls them Tom and Katy too.. but that's just hearsay..

The heels seem a bad idea to me....

slim22 · 24/11/2009 23:40

Am sorry, don't your girls ever dress up???

She just happens to be followed by paparazzi a lot and these people know when to get the picture that will create this sort of patronizing spin.

Ronaldinhio · 24/11/2009 23:43

not with those ankles.......

groundhogs · 24/11/2009 23:45

dressing up is one thing,

going out in NYC with heels on at 3yo, knowing you are going to have your pic splashed all over the world before the limo door has been slammed shut....?

RJRabbit · 25/11/2009 08:25

Oh fgs Northernlurker! Why don't you just own up to what you were really doing which was trying to be a smartarse? If you were really concerned about getting people's names right, you wouldn't have called Suri's mother "Katie whatshername".

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/11/2009 08:29

Those shoes are custom made Loubitons. You're all just jealous.

hehe

JemL · 25/11/2009 08:55

Agree some children are strong willed when it comes to clothes - I have daily battles with DS1 (3.5) as his ideal outfit every day would be a three piece pinstripe suit, tie, and converse trainers - a la Doctor Who. But I still wouldn't let him go it in the cold without a coat.
