Her walking out of the jungle is on the bbc news - there is an entire phone-in about her on 5 live atm.

Why?

OP posts:
pagwatch · 23/11/2009 13:04

She wouldn't be damned by most people if she took the decision to respect her son and cease parading him in front of the cameras - especially in situations that are difficult for children with disabilities, or in situations where his privacy and dignity should be respected.

It is bad enough that her other children are entertainment fodder but he is particularly vulnerable. She doesn't respect that

Katz · 23/11/2009 13:15

Want to know what i would respect her most for doing, saying right this stint in the jungle has shown me what an idiot i have been, i realised that no amount of money can replace quality time with my children. I have decided to enable them to have as normal a childhood as possible and am selling my house and buying one in a secluded spot, i am for my children's sake quitting courting the public and press and am now offically retiring.

why are you listing bad behaviour from others? Is she OK because her other halves have behaved badly?

I am not holier than thou. I have no problem with her choosing to be a glamour model or dating whoever she chooses.
But making a career out of selling the intimacies of her childrens lives, especially her disabled son, is odious.

it also didnt do her career any harm.

she was disliked before she got with PA.
and she is disliked after him.

daftpunk · 23/11/2009 13:52

pagwatch;

what is she supposed to do with Harvey on photo shoots...?

hide him in a cupboard..?

she is treating all her chidren the same...which is a good thing imo...

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 23/11/2009 13:55

Perhaps wait until the children are old enough to decide for themselves if they want to be photographed ? She is an adult they on the other hand have no say in the matter and are forced/encouraged to take part. IMO fine if she wants to be a media tart for people with nothing better to do to admire shame any of her kids need to be dragged into it

curryfreak · 23/11/2009 13:56

Yes she is daft punk, as comodities!

NotAnotherNewNappy · 23/11/2009 13:57

I am that my first reaction to this post was to google 'katie price walks out of jungle'.

I don't know why I am fascinated with her but I am. I read one of her autobiographies while standing in Waterstones once, i couldn't bring myself to buy it but I couldn't put it down either.

My only real issue with her and PA is the way they sell pics of their kids. They are always on the front cover of OK next to a headline of what's going on in their parents marraige/divorce. I feel very for them, imagine how they will feel when they look back on it as adults.

pagwatch · 23/11/2009 14:00

I don't have a problem with the photo shoot type thing.
The ones I have issues with are things like the shots I saw of her taking him into his new school and having a camera crew there.

He has autism and most children with this find change overwwhelmingly difficult even if they cannot articulate it. Doing that, having that stress filmed is not appropriate IMO.

I have three children. If I treated all three exactly the same my DS2 would have a very unhappy life.

I remember articles - headlines even - where she lamented because Harvey was massively overweight because of his condition. He did indeed look largish in the photos.

Then I saw him in my local town centre. He was in a wheelchair with a couple of nice helpers. I thought he looked tiny. A bit chubby yes, but far smaller than I had imagined, thanks to the photos I had seen and her front-page vapours about his size. I can only imagine that Price herself is teeny, and this had made Harvey look larger in the pictures.

Not long afterwards there was a furore when Heat Magazine printed some stickers with an offensive picture and slogan about Harvey based around over-eating.

It was then that I decided I dislike the woman.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 23/11/2009 14:06

Personally I think all of the above named Z list celebs should bugger off. The only way they get publicity is by selling these sort of images not for actually achieving anything in life . And yes I know gordon ramsay is a chef Jamie Redknapp a footballer etc etc but in that case they should be in the press doing their jobs and last time I looked that didn't involve small children/spouses.

FWIW I am not terribly interested in viewing pictures of celebrities off spring.

But there is a difference between selling a photo shoot to OK and having a camera crew trailing you, filming tantrums, bad behaviour and tearful goodbyes. For the same reason I don't like/watch shows like Supernanny, I don't think children should be displayed in that way especially as going on is not their choice.

And what are you going on about that I need to make up my mind. Where have I said Pater Andre is OK to do the same.? The thread though is about Katie Price and Harvey is her child.

exactly dittany....

some of the posts i've read on MN about Katie are truely shocking...

the hatred is way over the top.....and says more about the posters than it does about KP.

OrmIrian · 23/11/2009 14:17

To the OP, I am not.

pagwatch · 23/11/2009 14:42

Very true. Everyone in the spotlight, with a few noteble exceptions do photo ops. I remember David Mellor and his family post sex scandal as a particularly bad one.

But I don't know how many would have their private lives with their children filmed 24/7- it seems such a betrayal to me. But then so do the people who bring adolescents on to Jeremy Kyle. It is very odd.

I don't know what that says about me tbh. I don't have any opinions on Katie Price really except where it comes to exploiting her disabled child. I suspect that mostly it says that I have a disabled child too.

MoChan · 23/11/2009 14:50

She's completely tawdry and looks like a shammy leather. What worries me is the idea that young girls might think she's an appropriate role model.

daftpunk · 23/11/2009 14:50

i wasn't referring to your posts pagwatch...

..the posts i'm talking about were on another thread..

Prunerz · 23/11/2009 14:50

There are far more famous people who DON'T wheel their kids out in this way, than those who do. I really don't agree that it's something that every one does.

pagwatch · 23/11/2009 14:53

fair enough...

thesunshinesbrightly · 23/11/2009 15:31

Another thread about the talentless Miss Price.
