Have 3 kids (5 and under), and a normal life (in terms of busyness) yet always seem to be flat out.

AIBU to wonder if its cos my kids or small or if it will improve atall?

As I am sailing close to the wind of knackeredness

YANBU, and it does get better.

Eventually.

Uriel · 21/11/2009 17:48

It will get better.

Especially when your kids are old enough to cook for you and you'll be drifting on the sea of relaxation!

Snowtiger · 21/11/2009 17:51

Am sure YANBU.

I have no experience of my own of having 3 kids under 5 (DS1 is 2, DS2 yet to be born!) but I'm certainly hoping that once my sons get to the age where I can give them jobs to do - setting the table, ironing, washing up, helping in the garden, vacuuming etc - then I'm going to make damn sure they do them before they get a sniff of any pocket money!!

It must get easier as they get older, surely?! I live in hope at any rate.

I have three kids aged 5,3 and 9 months when my youngest turned aout 5 or 6 months it started ot get so much easier and now although there are days which seem hard in general things are good
I think once the baby was a little bigger all the routines got easier and just fell into place. Hope that helps!

Mumof · 21/11/2009 18:04

Mumof, don't despair, I also have 3 kids and they are now all at primary school (it seemed as if I had 3 preschoolers for years!) Life is so much easier now in so many ways. Hang in there

busybutterfly · 21/11/2009 19:53

I have 3 aged 7, 5 and 18 months. The elder two entertain their younger sister and are both at school.

It gets easier. Hang in there

Hando · 21/11/2009 19:54

I think you must be doing a fantastic job. I have a 5 year old dd, she is very well behaved and easy to parent really. I looked after my friends 3 children one Saturday, they are 3, 3 and 1. So I had a 5 yr old and 3 under 3. To say I was exhausted by the end of the day would be the understatment of the year!

Well done you!

MillyR · 21/11/2009 20:19

It will get easier over the years. In the short term, I think this is a really tiring time of the year, and you will feel less knackered in the spring.

stillenacht · 21/11/2009 20:21

Have 2 DSs and not getting much easier yet (age 10 and 6) but then DS2 has low functioning autism so not sure if it ever will.

Bonsoir · 21/11/2009 20:22

Yes, it gets easier, though not necessarily less busy.

DSS1 is 14, DSS2 is 12 and DD is 5, and they require less immediate supervision/micromanagement than they used to, and more intellectual input.

Mumof · 21/11/2009 20:24

thanks

I have hope again
