to have a 5 week old DD and be so very broody?

As it says really!

I have a 22month DS, 5 week old DD and can't help feeling broody. Not sure what is wrong with me.

Had horrible pregnancy with both. Birth Number 1 was horrid. DD's birth was much better - 2.5 hours, born in the car in the hospital car park - dignity tested but the euphoria after the birth was such that I didn't mind at all!!

Could this be why I feel like repeating the experience so soon.

By the way, we can't have another as we are nowhere near a financial position to do it.

Just wondered if it's normal to feel so broody so soon.

Maybe it is, there's not that much of a gap between DCs 1 and 2!

Thanks

I know, I amazed myself with that one. My thought process when it came to light on Xtra Factor was OMG - she's PG - how lovely - I'm - oh hang on I'm sat watching it with a bump myself - - why do you still feel you stupid woman? - bah stop thinking about it and go have another chocolate

I think it's something to do with wanting to be the newest of it all. Newest pg, newest newborn. Or something.

[stops thinking about it and wanders off to have another chocolate]

DD2 is 5 months old and I have been crazy broody ever since she was born. DH is having none of it.

But for the past few nights she has decided to wake up every 2-3 hours again, leaving me completely frazzled in the daytime, whilst I am crying from lack of sleep supposed to be taking care of DD1 (2.2yrs) and DD2.

Needless to say them broody hormones are loong gone :-)

Told DH about this thread - he changed the subject very quickly - I'm guessing he's not sharing the feeling!!!

Don't worry - If I act on the hormones we will be homeless in the new year due to lack of cash and 2 mortgages to pay so v. unlikely to completely lose the plot and make more babies any time soon. Have an appointment with the GP on Monday to get the coil sorted and am currently BF full time so likelyhood of pregnancy V. slim as I have just had to explain to rather green looking DH.

remember getting my coil fitted when DD was 9 weeks old and being quite disappointed that the preg test they did first was negative - we'd used condoms on the 2 times we'd managed any sex and I was breast feeding.

Broodiness continued for years but went abruptly in sept this year (8 years on) the second I got pregnant again. Very rough weeks since with vomiting for Ireland. I have told DH to shoot me if I ever get broody again.

Wow broody at 5 weeks. Wait!!!

slushy06 · 21/11/2009 19:08

Yes I have ds 3 and dd 4months and every day the broodiness seems to get worse. H owever this is new for me never really felt broody before ds was an accident and I was frightened to have dc2 because of the effect it would have on ds and now I have seen it didn't effect it at all I cant seem to stop wanting another baby.
