to be seriously considering handing in my notice

in my job as mother? The hours are terrible, the pay is worse. My children team members are unco-operative and demanding and I am surprisingly incompetent considering the amount of time and energy I devote to the role.

Now I just have to figure out who to see

oh YANBU at all!

I'd well and truly had enough the other day so I texted in sick on Sunday evening to DH (who was having a jolly old day-long drinking sesh at the pub) and on the Monday I went up at 9am put the dds in our bedroom with DH and his hangover and left for the day.

I went to my sisters for a cuppa, to the gym, lunch, shops, cinema then round to have a hot bath and take away at my Dads then slept the night there. I don't think he took me seriously when I said I was pissed off with him and needed some time to myself!

ComeONFabStopStressingSOMuch · 17/11/2009 13:29

I handed in my notice but DH refused to accept it!

suiledonne · 17/11/2009 13:30

My DH works 6 days and week so by Sunday I am too tired to go anywhere.

My MIL is always volunteering to help out but when I ask her to actually do anything it isn't convenient.

Having a bad day, hurt my back and dd2 is teething.

I took an unauthorised leave of absence this evening as I had Had Enough - disappeared into the garage for a while.

Sadly wasn't gone long enough for DH to have actually done anything about the wailing - but when I reappeared, DS did stop and then eat his tea (he was so relieved to see me back, bless him)

YANBU.

suiledonne · 17/11/2009 13:32

lol at ComeonFab. I've tried calling in sick but the dcs refuse to accept it.

Well at my last one to one we discussed my recent sickness and DH the boss agreed that we needed to make some changes to my working conditions.

So he is booking a day off work to finish the decorating and taking on more reponsibilty for household tasks. And in return I have agreed not to divorce him

However, I would love to take industrial action in the style of girlsyearapart. Am very

RJRabbit · 17/11/2009 13:35

I'm incompetent too but disciplinary action seems unforthcoming...

Maybe you should raise a formal grievance?

TheCrackFox · 17/11/2009 13:35

I would quite like a sabbatical for a couple of months but apparently our corporation is "suffering from a joint skills and staff shortage problem".

missorinoco · 17/11/2009 13:38

YANBU.

DS ignores me when I quit. I'm thinking of getting sent onto the naughty step instead. And then refusing to apologise. I could be there for hours, and no one would be allowed to disturb me.

Just thinking about it feels bliss.

Bumperlicioso · 17/11/2009 13:41

Really, I think I may be about to be fired as a wife and a mother for too many sick days. I could claim unfair dismissal but the union says I should just get out while I can.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 17/11/2009 13:44

Would love to resign , usually between 8am and 9am every morning! I think I'm more likely to be pensioned off in a few years time

girlsyearapart · 17/11/2009 13:51

Yes my text to the boss was ignored so the flounce out one day strike had to be implemented with immediate effect.

Would recommend it .

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 17/11/2009 15:52

I'm working to rule (my rules obviously) and I am entitled to rest periods! (i.e long periods on MN). That's my excuse anyway!

fledtoscotland · 17/11/2009 16:17

yanbu at all

I asked DH for a sabatical from my current role as SAHM during the day and nurse at night. Cited personal reasons. he laughed

he was at college at the time not at home with DS1 having the mother of all tantrums whilst DS2 was swinging from my legs wanting to be picked up. to add to my workload, the dog had just tipped the cat-litter tray over and the washing machine was ready to be unloaded.

Have been told that am being taken out for lunch thursday so am temporarily still in post.

TheCrackFox · 17/11/2009 16:20

I would start "work to rule" but I am worried that nobody would notice.

groundhogs · 17/11/2009 17:22

OOh, now if I had a £1 for everytime I've said I'd walk off the job and not even go back for my wages...I'd be able to retire!
