To wish this ebay seller would just answer my question!!!

OK so in the wider scheme of meaningful world events this isn't such a big deal.

But I wrote to an ebay seller this evening asking what size a top was that i was considering bidding on. It was listed as size 8 / 10. Now I buy lots from this particular brand and know very well that size 10 is perfect on me but size 8 is too small hence wanting to know.

So I ask a simple question - 'Can you please tell me if this top is a size 8 or a size 10?'

Seller replies 'It will comfortably fit a size 8 or 10'

I go back explaining that I want to know what size the top is actually marked as since I know what size I need to fit me.

So now she has come back with some waffle about how she knows that some size 8 tops fit her, a size 10, but that she knows this is not the same for everyone.

Would I be unreasonable to reply that I asked a simple question about the size that I thought would be a quick and simple question to answer (ffs I can see the label in her photo but it is not clear enough to read!), that I am not interested in debating what size tops from this particular brand may or may not fit her or what her opinion is on the sized person who might fit the top. I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE EFFING SIZE!!!!

I would email again and explain as you have on here. That you know the brand and a size 8 wouldn't fit so you need to know exact size OR ask for measurements.

Tortoise I have done this already, twice in fact, which is why I am so frustrated! I am asking a really easy question (or so I thought) and I can see from one of her photos that the size label in on the top so its not been cut out. Just not clear enough to see the size on the photo

is the item new? maybe it's a 10 but she's shrunk it a little and is trying to cover herself. I can't think of any logical reason why she won't just tell you.

Tortoise · 16/11/2009 22:40

In that case i probably wouldn't bother giving them my bid.
I hate it when sellers don't reply to questions, even more annoying that she has but without a proper reply!

pigletmania · 16/11/2009 22:41

I would just ask her what size the lable is and if she tries to dodge and does not answer your question it dont bid on it!

ToffeeCrumble · 16/11/2009 22:41

I would reply. "Thanks for responding. Please can you tell me what size it says on the label of the top." Surely she has to reply then, rather than waffling on about other stuff.

Connrotraceptive I think you could be right. She has said it is new but it doesn't have tags so who knows....

Tortoise I almost certainly won't bid after this but I am just frustrated that she can't answer a simple question with a simple answer!

piglet & toffee cross posted. I did ask her speicfically to tell me what the top was marked as which I thought should be specific enough - maybe not!

I didn't actually reply back as I did in my OP - I simply (politely) said 'sorry I still don't think you have answered my question - can you please tell me what size the top is actually marked as?'
