To want perfect slippers?

I mean where do you turn in your early 40s when you want to have comfortable feet but don't want to look like your Grandmother?
My last german pair gave me sore feet, they were like clogs!
But most of the available ones look like they are for Ancients.
Where do other people turn for happy comfortable cozy feet that are not ANCIENT.

As I cannot possibly justify £60 I am wearing walking socks and looking like a div instead

I have fluffy mule type ones from M&S.

Skechers slippers are so comfy. And they have a solid sole so you can pop into the garden in them if needed.
Theyre not super pretty but they are nice to wear!
