To think DP would notice DD had wrong coat and wrong bag when he picked her up from nursery

He's a man! You should be happy he brought the right child home

I do sympathise though. My DH would do the same and give the same reason!

My dh became convinced dd's boots 'were definitely not hers' because they had the fluffy top turned up, so you could not see the fluff. Fair enough dd thought the same - but she's 3, not 43.

Nursery workers say it is not uncommon and appears to be a Dad Thing. I am disapppointed in dh as he normally could pick dd out of a line up, recognise clothing and toys, knows what time bedtime is, remembers to feed her etc.

YANBU.

My dh would have at least noticed that the anorak didn't fit.

Leave him!

There's probably some poor boy out there wondering why he is wearing a pink coat that is way too small for him

IdrisTheDragon · 13/11/2009 18:52

DH would be the same.

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 13/11/2009 18:55

You're lucky he actually put a coat of some kind on her!

"He's a man! You should be happy he brought the right child home"

I thought if I put "he's a man, they're rubbish", I'd get flamed.

But obviously he is and they are.

My DH has just taken my 3 DC's out and I changed them into stuff he can ruin (just in case )

Stayingsunnygirl · 14/11/2009 16:31

My dh once managed to put ds2's trousers on him back to front!! I was totally bemused.

And at the thought of some poor boy in a too-small pink coat!!

It's either the paremt's problem for not labelling the clothes, or the nursery staff's fault for not giving the kids individual pegs. I don't see why it's husband's fault if clothes are unlabelled and your daughter doesn't even know which clothes are hers.

girlsyearapart · 14/11/2009 17:10

Ha My Mum went to collect my niece from nursery and the only coat that was left was a blue Sunderland FC anorak (we live in London) and my niece's pink coat nowhere to be seen..

So who dressed their child in the pink one instead of the Sunderland one???

LittleMonkeysMummy · 15/11/2009 07:31

LOL. My parents did this last week. They picked DD up from nursery last week and did the same thing. Mum commented on DD's nice new coat - which had me puzzled to start with! It was a lovely new coat (age 6-9 months) Unfortunately wasn't DD's as she is 21 months old! My dad said that he thought she looked a tad uncomfortable in it!!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 15/11/2009 07:35

YABU, my dh managed to put a babygrow on our dd the wrong way round. it made changing her exposive poo nappy a bit tricky.

pippa251 · 15/11/2009 07:42

My DP would have done the same- he is blind when it comes to baby clothes except when he insists on ironing them !?!

NormaSknockers · 15/11/2009 08:14

At least he remembered to go & pick her up!
