It's fine to carry on parking in parent and child spaces IMO for as long as your child is in a car seat and you need space for getting him/her in, out and safely attached with the seat belt.

Can't you hop in on the other side and do her up sitting next to her?

clairesparkle · 11/11/2009 08:30

YES YABU - this drives me mad. But not as mad as people with no kids at all who park in them, which is really common.

Bonsoir · 11/11/2009 08:54

Not if you have more than one child in a car seat or other large children in the way!

southeastastra · 11/11/2009 08:57

if the sign says for 5 and under - that's who can use it like it or not basically!

sadlynoNOTthatPeachy · 11/11/2009 09:16

Nah SEA,once ds4 is past 5 (a while pff yet, 20months)if the only way I can keep ds3safe in a car park is to park naughtily then I shall do it anyway. Rather a fine I can't aford than a squashed ds3 in all truth.

And as I cannot know why other people may be apkring there, as long as they have kids (or a blue badge) then I shall refuse to care.

madamearcati · 11/11/2009 09:36

If they need help buckling up their seatbelts then I think that is justified to use them

cancantcan · 11/11/2009 09:56

My DS is 5 and I would still use the space (if I could ever find one) as he still needs help fastening his seatbelt over the booster and I find it impossible to lean accross him to do this without my fat ass banging my car door into the vehicle in the next space.
As soon as both my DD are old enough to do their own straps, I'll move back onto normal spaces.
