A letter arrived at my address for him today.

I mean at best it's just a blimmin' cheek particularly as relations are at a low point currently

But I googled the name on the envelope and its a commercial bank and private investigation company.

So either he is investigating me or he is being investigated. What else could this be? Should I be worried?

Oh, it was around 10 years ago now - yes, it stopped in the end. Was never more than a minor nuisance. But we weren't connected to the people - I should imagine it could be a bit more annoying if there is any official link between you.
I would be very annoyed tbh.

Citronella, I think you may be able to do a free electoral role search on www.192.com, if this saves you a bit of time and worry.

Fingers crossed there's an innocent explanation.

I would definitely open it.

thesunshinesbrightly · 09/11/2009 23:51

Has OP opened it?? >

If it comes through my letterbox, I often open it without even looking at who it's addressed to (have opened several letters to DH, but he's used to me, just shrugs). I would have absolutely no qualms about opening this letter.

citronella · 10/11/2009 07:21

I would be less bothered about opening it if it was addressed to a stranger rather than xh.

If I opened it I couldn't trust myself not to let on that I knew the contents. Given that relations are v.poor at the moment and there is a lot of mistrust all round it would be a bad move. But I am very curious now.

Will definitely ring up the company though today so they set there records straight.

Send it back or bin it.

Why waste a phone call when "not known at this address" will do?
