and up to the toilet with a magazine in hand and not reappear for 20 minutes! Especially when I have been having the day from hell with the DCs, am barely holding it together, and was desperate for him to come home and entertain at least one DC!
FFS can't he just go at work !

so true cjcregg

Boobalina · 10/11/2009 10:33

My DH does exactly the same... or worse in the morning - I have a really quick 5 min shower and then when its his turn (after much hammering on the door moaning he has to go to work soon) he goes in and has a 20 min poo and then a 10 min shower and then a 5 min hair preen....

and then he says I must be weird to 'notice' how long he takes on the loo..... thats because you take fuckin ages love!!!!!!!!!!

posieparker · 10/11/2009 10:35

My DH comes in and then pops upstairs to get changed, puts radio/music on iun every room he goes into and then is available.

Bonsoir · 10/11/2009 10:39

This is totally normal man behaviour. You must learn to accept it

It is completely unreasonable to expect a man to walk through the door after work and to start helping with the DC straightaway.

luciemule · 10/11/2009 10:51

This is obviously something that is down to parenting books that tell us mummies to give the child a book whilst sitting on the potty!
(Runs off to hide all motorbike/car magazine in the house).

roulade · 10/11/2009 11:51

My DH ( and now it seems DS ) like to do theirs just as i've run a hot steamy bath, thereby intensifying the lovely stench, how relaxing!

meltedchocolate · 10/11/2009 11:58

This isnt the problem in our house. When my H was still here he would come in while I was on the loo, say 'hurry up, i cant wait' and then start p*ssing in the sink!!!

So (because he didn't care) muggins here had to get out all the cleaning products and give it a thorough scrub!!

Eeeewwww

meltedchocolate · 10/11/2009 11:59

That was meant to be a face!

waddlelikeaduck · 10/11/2009 14:10

like roulade my DH and DS (10) both seem to wait until I've run a lovely bath and then just as I am about to get in will run in and do it or when I've been in about 5 mins moan and moan that they need the loo! arghhh...

DS comes in and chats and leaves the loo seat up - lovely!

mrsjuan · 10/11/2009 14:13

Mine does this too. Sometimes he decides to have a bath too while he's in there but doesn't bother telling me!

thatsnotmymonster · 10/11/2009 14:17

AHHH it's infuriating isn't it?

My DH does this the minute he walks in and when he's finished he starts picking at food and making himself a cuppa, meanwhile I am silently going mad as I just want him to put the dc's in bed and atttend to his needs after!!

Also is my DH the only one who has to spend 20min in the loo in the morning, immediately after work AND at 11pm (and often emerges with that expectation of sex too)?

thatsnotmymonster · 10/11/2009 14:18

Don't know why atttend needs 3 t's...

Chickenshavenolips · 10/11/2009 14:18

I don't understand why anyone would voluntarily spend time with their bowel movements. I mean, WTF? DH does this. Goes into the bathroom, with a book, and 20 minutes later flushes the chain. Do men poo really slowly?

displayuntilbestbefore · 10/11/2009 14:19

This has answered my question on another thread about where my dh has got to when I was expecting him home with shopping!!! He must have come home without me realising it and gone straight up to the bathroom!

displayuntilbestbefore · 10/11/2009 14:27

20mins, chickenshavenolips? That's a quick trip for my dh!

littlemoominmamma · 10/11/2009 14:39

I have two of these aged 14yrs and 38yrs they "keep it all in" until they get home.

No mags though.... will have to install cctv to find out what on earth they are getting up to for the at least 20mins they are in for!!!!

TidyBush · 10/11/2009 20:33

I must be in the minority then as my DH is proud of the fact that on week days he 'goes' at work thereby using their facilites and getting paid for it
