OK, I know it's environmentally friendly, but am I being unreasonable to think that re-usable loo roll is the most disgusting concept?

eewwwww....how utterly revolting

don't we have enuff shite bacteria floating around already?

bumptwitknocker · 06/11/2009 18:32

don't think they're horrendous. Apart from it saying "can be used for so many things". Face Cloth?

reallywoundup · 06/11/2009 18:44

i've used my washable wipes on my bits before- they live in the bathroom ready soaked in solution- was far easier than traipsing down the hall with my trews round my ankles looking for a flannel- only to return and have to damped said flannel and use it! (btw i am talking about time of the month etc when a freshen up is often essential)

I'm not sure about using it instead of bog roll- would have to be very eco-concious to cope i think! But as an apres bog roll freshen- thats fine

bran · 06/11/2009 18:45

Perhaps the ecological answer would be to have a water jet thingy like they have in the far east. I'd rather do that than have to wash poo-covered wipes.

Lipsy234 · 06/12/2016 21:58

Really? Is this real? Where do they do these? Just don't believe they exist. Even so its not ideal despite the massive cutback on tree chopping. I dont think you are bieng unreasonable.

Yoarchie · 06/12/2016 22:07

Fine for a wee you could just chuck the cloth in with the normal washing as long as you were doing some that day, otherwise would get smelly!
For a poo, no that's grim, E. coli and would require a hotter wash.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 06/12/2016 22:14

My in laws have friends who do this! They have colour coded cloths. If just a 'wet wipe' you are meant to rinse your cloth and hang it on your peg to use again...

Inadither · 06/12/2016 22:14

Personally I would rather have one of these. Washes and dries your bum for you.

I'd consider it. Somebody is missing a trick not doing reusable loo roll with Farage and Trump on it with It's A 2016 Thing underneath.

DramaInPyjamas · 06/12/2016 22:16

This thread is 7 years old

Manumission · 06/12/2016 22:17

Ewwww.

No. That is definitely The Line.

😷

Manumission · 06/12/2016 22:18

Oh. ZOMBIE THREAD 😒

Helpme9 · 06/12/2016 22:25

Disgusting and why would I want to put loads of shit covered cloths in my washing machine I don't know I can't cope with this. With terry nappies don't you use liners?

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 06/12/2016 22:37

What on earth would a person be searching to bring up and then resurrect a seven year old thread about reusable loo roll? Confused

Manumission · 06/12/2016 22:47

Don't think about it too deeply need Envy

Shemozzle · 06/12/2016 22:54

No, I actually think paper loo roll is disgusting and I never feel properly clean using it. I do keep meaning to start using washable ones but just don't get round to it. I've mentioned it to oh, he's up for it but I said he'd have to have his own wash bag for them. Just using them for wee's is probably a much easier solution to get round the gross mixed wash bag/bucket. So just me and the kids. Mind you, it's him that gets through an outrageous amount of toilet rolland what inspired me to consider washable stuff in the first place.

Shemozzle · 06/12/2016 22:55

Oh, zombie!

RoseGoldHippie · 06/12/2016 22:59

JohnLapsleyParlabane

Do your in laws friends have some guest toilet roll? Or do they expect visitors to also wipe with the used cloth 😷

FlyingElbows · 06/12/2016 23:08

Oh lordy, someone'll be along in a minute to tell us all about the pretty patterns and how you can just chuck the shitty rags I a bucket and wash them once a month at ten degrees along with your face cloths!! Vom. No ta.
