I'm I unreasonable for breathing a sigh of relief at the thought of the kids going back to school tomorrow? I love them dearly but I am in severe need of my own space. Also my dh has just had a week off too and I think I must be a bit too used to my own space as they have driven me nuts.

ds has an inset day on monday so we are not quite done here!! it has been hard but mainly shouty dh than ds (although, to be fair ds was manhandling various bits of expensive IT equipment belonging to dh - he would wake up v early and spend an hour wrecking havoc every morning so by the time dh got up, there were bits of hardware on the floors, empty CD cases and a printer jammed full of little magnetic counters, to name but a few)

shockers - I too work in state school, so have the overlaps. DD has been in with me a couple of times. Luckily I only work PT and DH can work from home a bit, and she can go to grandparents for a day or two, and friends help out. Makes it easier. Just wish I had the extra weeks, lol!

pointyhat · 01/11/2009 21:34

oh I didn't mean you should look on the bright side, jane. I meant me and everyone else who gets up quite a bit later than 5.30.

JANEITEluddite · 01/11/2009 21:38

But you inspired me to find a bright side, so that's okay!

My problem now is that after a week of late nights I'm not tired - but I really ought to go to bed.

CaptainNancy · 01/11/2009 21:43

To bed, go on!

I am actually sorry half term is over- it has been lovely having DD home.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/11/2009 21:48

I'm sorry too. I love dd being at home and I love the fact it gives me an excuse to shove aside many of my commitments. I'm feeling quite stressed at the thought of the next few weeks. dd much happier person working to her own schedule.

preciouslillywhite · 01/11/2009 21:58

I'm v v sad about my dds going back- but then I am an HE ditherer!

...think this is the worst back to school day of the lot ime. Chilly and dark

brrrrrrrrrr

GroundhogsRocketScientist · 01/11/2009 22:54

DS was off from nursery after he got sent home on Tuesday the week before half term with Chicken Pox, so it's been 2 weeks.

I feel like i'm out of the routine... But will have to find it again bloody quick... Have only 4 days from Monday till DH finally joins us back home. Haven't seen him since May.. Feeling a little nervous.

ErikaMaye · 01/11/2009 22:56

I'm so glad my brother is going back to school and my mum backn to work tomorrw. Half term is a nightmare!! Can't wait to be a little lazy in the mornings and not have to worry about 12 year old boys turning up at the door and grunt
