Great link. And he's right about Amsterdam. DH had a head injury and they gave him directions so he could drive to the hospital

Er.. what was this thread about?

Sorry Dilemma. Your dd sounds innocently curious.

I had to accompany a friend to A&E in Amsterdam once, after she took a little too much, um, stuff. Was v. embarrassed imagining all those Dutch docs and nurses thinking oh, bloody English tourists. But actually docs and nurses v. v. nice and oddly concerned about me and the other friend, even though we felt absolutely fine.

Wasn't until we got back to the hotel that I looked in a mirror and realised my eyes were completely bloodshot. So hardly surprising my Best Girl Guide Responsible Head Girl act wasn't really fooling anyone!

Bwahahaha!

My then BF, now DH, went to Amsterdam for a week. Obviously spent every night in the red light district and we got hooked on this card game. It was on an electronic touch screen machine and we were competing against each other and it culminatied in DH carrying me back to our hotel as I thought I was going to have a fit after over indulging on all counts.

We are going to Holland at Easter and are planning a trip to Amsterdam but I fear it will not be the same with the 3 kids in tow....

Ozziegirly · 29/10/2009 03:02

Hhehe, I love Amsterdam.

A friend and I went years ago, and had rather overindulged. Went back to the hotel and put on the TV to wind down. Cue both of us staring at TV and going "what is that?"

As the camera rolls back to reveal a woman being pleasured by 4 people in EXTREME close up.

Was not a pretty sight, especially when you're not expecting it.

I'd guess that given that growing your hair is a very important part of Sikh religion, and given how intolerant people can be perhaps your dd's friend's dad just had had enough, and your dd's questioning just hit a very sore spot. Perhaps he had explained the significance of his hair and felt that she shouldn't have been thinking about dolls?

She does sound quite sweet though

saggyhairyarse · 29/10/2009 08:02

Ozziegirl, OMG! I can only imagine (thank God)!

DuelingFANGo · 29/10/2009 08:36

what's a Misog?

I guess he was probably offended by the hair cutting comment? Perhaps he had tried to explain about the hair cutting thing and thought she should have understood it a bit more? Though at 4 he should have realised her questions would not have been meant in an offensive way, unless there was someting about the tone which offended him?

diddl · 29/10/2009 08:51

Perhaps he thought that at 4 she must realise her own hair grows again if cut & wondered why she seemed to think that this wouldn´t apply to him?

Morloth · 29/10/2009 09:17

Nah, he probably just got fed up with the line of questioning. I get fed up with my own DS once he gets onto a topic and won't let go and his questions get increasingly strange...

Astrid28 · 29/10/2009 11:21

A misog is an old grump! At least thats what I mean by it.

I googled it to see if it had some other meaning and found the definition in the Urban Dictionary;

Misog: A miserable Person.
Face like a slapped back side.
