as I have hit the dangerous point after my 3rd child at which I have become super broody. and flames HB thread is NOT helping.

Ababy is a definate no-no so you are all banned from mentioning them at all.

I could never change somebody elses baby's pooey nappy. Not even famil as there isn't a gagging icon

chegirlknowswhereyoulive · 19/10/2009 14:22

I thought DS3 was going to be my last. TBH I felt very lucky that I got pg at 39 after a 15 year gap (middle DC is adopted). But now I 'find' myself pg with number 5 as I thought I had better squeeze one last one in before it was too late (which is how I justified number 4!).

I think I imagined that it wouldnt happen or would take ages but it took just a week of trying . I have to say this little darling will have to be the last though. The early months of pg are bloody awful. Too emotional which I do not deal with well since losing DD.

TBH one more child is hardly going to put a crimp in our social life or cause a downturn in our finances. We dont go anywhere and we are skint anyway

Disenchanted3 · 20/10/2009 10:36

Am feeling less broody this morning as having a super snuggle with gorg DD and Flames birthstory and 9lb9 DD (however gorgeous) has made me think twice

Mentioned to DH about maybeee having DC4 when DD starts school (almost 4 yrs away) but he said, very firmly, he never wants any more kids

Oh Dis!!

I am super broody too. DS2 is also 10 months and I am so broody. He was 10lb 5oz so Flamebaby's weight isn't helping to put me off at all.

We are having a third but not planning to start trying until this time next year.

PlumBumMum · 20/10/2009 10:45

YABU Dis because I should have started this thread you still have a teeny baby incomparison to mine, she will be 3 in a couple of weeks

dh wants to wait until shes at school, which I agree with but I keep seeing pg bellies everywhere!!!!

ErikaMaye · 20/10/2009 10:46

I have under four weeks left till my little man gets here

And am already thinking about the next one in a few ten years time... DP actively chokes if I mention it.

Disenchanted3 · 20/10/2009 10:48

I had DS1 then when he was 9months got PG with DS2.

DS2 was 18 months when I got pg with DD.

So its gonna feel odd to me not having another, for me I just get so broody to an extreme.

Im going to have to squash the feeling and put it away though as its just not practical

Your young you've loads of time

4GHASTLYGHOULSandnotout · 20/10/2009 10:52

Im still mega broody but have decided to wait another year before ttc #5 so that we will have a bigger gap this time. There is only 13 months between dd3 and dd4 and we didn't get to enjoy the pregnancy really as we already had a baby to look after.

Arsed · 20/10/2009 11:01

Meeee toooooo

Ds is 10mo and so unbelieveable wonderfull I can't imagine never having another one.

I want one. I am broooody tooo

I cant have one though, we're getting married next year, we're skint, we dont have the room.. Df doesnt really like babies ( but comes in to his own when they get to 18mo)

The big thing is that both my my pregnancies have been awful and both of my offspring are so impatient they have arived very early ( 32+27 weeks) , my body doesn't work and pregnancy renders me incapable and i have to be on bedrest.

I have a coil.

I wish I had a normal body.

POO !

sweetkitty · 22/10/2009 13:00

Dis - you have similar gaps to me there's 18 months between DD1 and 2 and 2 1/2 years between DD2 and, hopefully there will be 22 months between DD3 and D(D)4. I am hoping the broody jean gets switched off after this one though.

Disenchanted3 · 22/10/2009 13:31

Oh yes SK, thats a worry too, what If I have DC4 and want 5??

Whe will it end?? lol

My Usbourne book of Geography that I got aged 8 (and what I have based my entire knowledge of geography on) said that the woman who had the most babies in the world that we know about was a Russian who had 64 children (quite a lot of multiples, I can't remember the stats now).

So, 64. There's something to aim for

MrsJiggle86 · 22/10/2009 13:45

Ive had my docs appointment today and was told i could poss have a c-section if i was to get pg, yipee, i will be trying for dc2 soon

ErikaMaye · 22/10/2009 14:11

64??? pales I'd struggle to remember all their names!!!!

MrsJiggles congrats on the good news

24 days maximum left - eek!!!

TitsalinaBumsquash · 22/10/2009 14:20

Someday i would love another, i have 2 little Boys but my eldest has Cystic Fibrosis and every child i have with DP has a 1 in 4 chance of getting it its just to big a risk. Sometimes i think sod it what will be will be but its so much work!

DP is adamant that they will eventually cure CF then we can have more children.

My sister has a big pregnant belly at the moment....

sweetkitty · 22/10/2009 17:23

No this is definitely my last one we are going to have to buy a bigger car and build an extension as it is. I'm 35 next year and have been pregnant or breastfeeding since november 2003 apart from 3 months, I feel I need my body back what's left of it.

EasyEggs · 22/10/2009 20:35

I think it's only fair to adhere to your request!

If you'd like a cure for your broodiness please feel free to pop round here for the week day.

I have ds aged 8, thinks he's a teenager. Ds aged 6 but acts more like a 3yr old
Dd aged 2, currently ill and not happy, was up all night with her last night, tonight isn't looking hopeful either. Ds just turned 1 and only started sleeping (day or night) at 11months and currently giving dd a run for her money on the tantrum front and did I mention dd2 is due in 3wks + 5days

I wish someone had cured my broodiness about 2yrs ago but I can very honestly and safetly say it has definately gone now

LargeGlassofRed · 22/10/2009 20:41

everytime I'm pregnant I think this is it,
after this the broodiness will end.
But even though dt's are only 17 weeks I still feel broody I must be bonkers!

goryminx · 22/10/2009 20:46

SK - I had no idea you were expecting #4 - CONGRATULATIONS!!

sweetkitty · 22/10/2009 21:04

geordie - yes utterly insane I know

chattermouse · 22/10/2009 22:58

Gosh, defo should no-one mention that rolling eye/drunk on milk thing little newborns do with their eyes whilst breastfeeding. And don't even think about the scrunchy back/bum curl/stretch thing they do when you go to lift them up

Prinpo · 22/10/2009 23:13

Bugger damnation, preg with DC3 and had really assumed that that would put a stop to it but you've all just confirmed my worst fears (which secretly I knew already) which is that I will deffo want number 4! Mmm, must start to devise a plan now. I like the argument by chegirl that we're skint and have no social life so what's left to lose.

BrokkenHarted · 22/10/2009 23:34

I know i will kick myself and be totally but what is the 'I' word mentioned at the start?? it is late in my defence! :P

Northernlurker · 23/10/2009 00:38

All you broody ladies can take heart from me - I have three lovely girls. Dd3 was much planned and wanted and welcome and after she was born I had absolutely no impetus to have another baby ever! She is now 2.5 and even seeing my lovely niece and my lovely friend's beautiful daughter - the most gorgeous, bright and all round yummy babies you could imagine - hasn't made me even a tiny bit broody. It's quite weird actually - I'm just done. Bbroody feelings - which I had before dd3 to a considerable extent - just aren't there anymore. So there is hope, for some of you at least. Sometimes enough does actually feel like enough!
