Is it me or does anyone else find someone answering their mobile, when they are in conversation with you, rude? I cant bear it, especially at work when I am trying to consult someone. Even when paying for something in a shop or when talking to a friend, I would probably leave the phone and call the person back, its a rude interruption, and I think the problems getting worse! Where's peoples manners!
A family friend has just gone to live in Japan where no one uses their mobiles publically, you have to be discreet. Maybe I should go live there...i dont know!

Bloody hell, people using mobile phone shock! Whatever next...

No one has ever been able to tell me what the difference is between listening to someone on a phone or listening to the conversation of two people opposite you on the train. Answer: none, you're just getting wound up for the sake of it. And what difference does it make it they are holding a phone to their ear or talking into an earpiece? Again, no difference. What a silly thing to get annoyed by.

BloodshotEyeballs · 16/10/2009 21:21

Oh and of course it's rude to answer it in certain circumstances, but some of you sound like you'd have people beheaded for daring to use one.

spokette · 16/10/2009 21:35

Nothing wrong with using mobile phones. Just remember your manners (assuming you had them in the first place).

I had a new deal girl texting while I was interviewing her!
Absolutley bad manners. I always wait for aundivided attention before dealing with anyone with moblile attached. It's their fault you know.

LissyGlitter · 16/10/2009 22:22

I don't look at texts, and just glance to check it isn't an emergency for calls when busy, but I have had people (ILs are worst for it) bring me my phone during meals and insist I read texts that I know will just be a stupid joke or whatever from my Dad.

I get SO annoyed when I see other students texting during lectures. I have to keep my mobile on in case of problems with DD, but I have it on silent and the people minding her know to just ring me and I will excuse myself and ring them back asap. i wouldn't dream of doing any more than glancing at the screen in a seminar or lecture.

mamas12 · 16/10/2009 22:32

I have the normal rule of no phone calls/texts during mealtimes omg my dd at the moment is wolfing it down sometimes.
It is bad manners.
