To want to drown DH in a vat of marinade

For more than a decade now I have served up spare ribs in a complex, delicious marinade of tomatoes, garlic, honey, thyme, etc.

DH asks tonight if I would like him to make dinner. "Ooh that would be nice," I say, "I was going to do the spare ribs, but they will need a sauce."

"That's no problem," he answers "Don't you just pour a tin of tomatoes over them".

So AIBU.

Yup, my husband managed to cook tea backwards last night. Absolutely clueless.

mine's the same

is unable entirely to notice complex flavours - my pasta sauce has about 14 ingredients - he reckons it's a Sainsburys Basics tin of chopped tomatoes.

Let him do it his way. He will then fully appreciate your skill. (but maybe keep the takeaway menu to hand)

AKMD. Backwards? How?

It's not so much that he has no palate, but what if he thinks that of every culinary gem that I create .

What if he's been thinking all these years that I'm skulking in the kitchen just to avoid doing anything else. I mean how long does it take to open a can of tomatoes?

No wonder he didn't get my SAHM moans.
