'She wanted to raise my child Christian but I am a Catholic'

(no idea if baby was his or not btw; had to go out)

AIBU to think if someonoe doesn't know that their own religion is Christianity then they probably are a bit dim ? (Clearly what I mean there was somewhat stronger LOL)....... That's before we even get into the wondering why a Catholic would be fathering children randomly....)

Yes I know I was BU to watch JK. But it always makes me feel good about myself- no matter how shit I may be, I at least know who fathered the boys and to keep my dirty washing far away from TV cameras!

Catholic derives from the word for Universal, and some CofE Churches use it to refer to all Christians under God, though it's a touch old fashioned. Some other branches refer to themselves as Catholic as a part of their belief that they alone keep the proper and universal Church created by the Apostles.

Roman Catholic is, as far as I know, the correct term for those that follow the Pope.

So perhaps I should have said...

All Roman Catholics are Christian.

Not all Christians are Roman Catholic.

Appearing on JK should be enough to get you excommunincated from the Catholic Church surely?

I'm Christian and Catholic (lol)

I thought it was just born agains who came out with this crap about Catholics not being Christian. One once told me Catholicism was a cult and I worshiped the Pope

unless they are Gnostics or somesuch ancient heretic branch, do they not know where their faith comes from initially? Or is the Bible tainted by Catholicism or summat?
