to get sick of people asking if my baby is mine?

dd3 was born at the end of August. I am a size 22 but still looked very very pregnant before the school hols and it was obvious - fat people generally don't have massive bumps like that, don't waddle as much and don't (hopefully) nearly puke in the school playground most days due to forever-morning sickness. . It is possible to be fat and pregnant and if I ever get that shape just through being pregnant I would be off to the docs to see what was growing in my belly.

Since start of school in September I have had someone come up to me nearly every day and ask me 'is that baby yours? I didn't even know you were pregnant'. It is starting to really piss me off. How rude is that? Today a random mum who I remember having a conversation with about being pregnant asked me the same thing. I just know that if I was skinny no-one would ask and if they just opened their eyes it would be damn obvious that I was pregnant.

Besides, do you think if she wasn't mine I would be looking like a sleep-deprived desperado at all times? Getting my 3 dd's out the house for the school run is hard enough without these rude people.

I'm a size 8, and don't tend to get very much of a bump, so people at preschool got a shock when I turned up with DD3.

I am size 22 and didn't get much of a bump and always thought it was because I was large but my friend who is the same size had a huge and very noticeable bump - I was so jealous!

the same has happened with my smaller friends as well some show really big and others don't.

My ds2 looks much more like the nanny than he does me! When we are out with both boys people assume that ds1 is mine and ds2 is hers.

She grins and bears it and I snigger.

Pain in the arse for you though; I expect the loons other mums are just wanting to see the new baby and making conversation.

I was shopping when my youngest was 6mths (there is only in 15mths between my 2) and some random woman walked up and asked
a) if they were both mine
b) if they had the same dad !!

I was speechless.

Some people are just idiots. Congratulations on the new addition to the family

I was a size 10 when pg first time, most people didnt know until i had baby

Ivykaty44 · 14/10/2009 22:58

well I was asked the same and I was 9 stone at getting pg and 13 when I had dd - so I would think people are rather unobervent rather than being rude to either of us
The same as when the baby is dressed from head to toe in pink and they ask is it a boy?

I am sure it is just open mouth and dont think about the words coming out ever..!!
