Go and see it, it's great

(And I want to know if there are any other wailers)

We had a 6yr old, a 10yr old, and 2 12yr olds plus 2 40somethings and everyone enjoyed it.

If I'd been alone I would have howled and howled and let it ALL out.

LadyoftheBathtub · 14/10/2009 15:29

Oh I generally cry. I also cried last week at Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, when they had to put the monkey's thought translator on the dad, and he could finally tell his geeky son he loved him and was proud of him.

I was in pieces (but I felt that being pg excused my hormonal reaction!) - especially during the montage at the beginning. I took my DS (5) and DD (4) and some of the montage bit went over their heads ('scuse the pun), but they did really enjoy it - although not as much as Ice Age 3 apparently.

mathanxiety · 14/10/2009 16:36

It was the adults (and even teens) who were sniffing away into their tissues when I saw it. The younger set enjoyed the adventure.

Sunshinemummified · 14/10/2009 16:39

DD is 3 and he didn't get what the sad bits were about but kept saying really loudly 'mummy the man is sad isn't he?' He loved the rest of it, especially the dogs. I can't wait for the DVD.

Oh Good, wailers aplenty!

V Good point about the 'hero' lead characters going against type

Will def be getting this on DVD. Wonder if it's out for Christmas?

Squirrel...

Went today to baby cinema with DS (5mo) and loved it. Didn't cry but was really touched by the opening montage. I thought there was some really clever attention to detail.
DS watched intently for a bit, obviously enjoying the colours & images. At one point he gave a loud giggle and the rest of the cinema laughed

I want to see this, but am worried.
I wept so much during Atonement on Saturday night (and still if I thought about it on the Sunday), despite knowing the story and being intensely irritated by Keira.......
I am concerned I'll traumatise my boys if I go!
