New Times blog from AN Mum, ranting about the grim primary. No idea where she is or how she got the job, but she seems to have bested most of the experts. Or am I being a bit bitter?

Witty mum on the rant

YABU It is nothing like my school and I don't think it was very funny.

Litchick · 09/10/2009 18:23

I think it's quite witty.
More as an attack on petty buraucracy than on the education system.

I don't understand why everyone gets so defensive when anyone says they don't like their children's school. All this 'well my DCs school is the top of the league tables and every all the aparents have a PHD,' is a bit ...well...a bit Mumsnet.

Lol at the caretaker's comment!

Just what our's would say - although we just ignore him

hocuspontas · 09/10/2009 18:58

aargh! ignore apostrophe - arguing with dd2 at the moment and can't concentrate!

Why is it described in the OP as "witty"?

HerBeatitude · 09/10/2009 21:01

Cory, it's precisely because of Mumsnet that I stopped buying newspapers.

a) standard of debate is much higher, more interesting, more informed, plus much wittier and more fun.

b) no time left to read newspapers anymore after wasting it all on MN.

Still read the occasional article online, mainly because I've been directed to it by MN.

How ironic, parents and teachers spend ages trying to teach children to behave in a civilised manner and respect each other and we the adults seem to fail everytime
Even our small village school had a major meltdown with the PTA and parents fighting in the playground .
A new one has now been set up and a lucky individual out of 7 people is the Chairperson and secretary.......but at least some people turned up.

LOL Ripeberry I once went to a church fayre where two members of the committee indulged in fisticuffs. The chief aggressor was heard to declare loudly: "I did it for Father D_, he's been wishing he could punch her for years!"

'Twas most amusing, seeing as how it was the Christmas Fayre and the season of peace on earth and goodwill to all men etc....
