to think it is completely out of order for parents to smoke at the school gates?

It's driving me mad!

Happens morning and afternoon. Parents standing at the school gate smoking.

I've spoken to the head about it and she sent out a letter asking people not to do it but they continue.

I am tempted to tell them myself.

Why can't they wait until they are down the road?

ahem, slarty.. it's Tailor-made.. not being an arse, but that's one of family names....

I've just given up, July 31. Dunno whether that makes me more or less able to pass comment, but personally, health stuff aside, it just looks SOOOOO low class to be hanging about waiting to pick kids up with a fag hanging off your lip... Les Dawson/70's throw back or what?

I do think the head ought to come out and say something, along the lines of it being an unhealthy lifestyle for little ones to see, it's phsically harmful for all those walking through it and it looks sooo low class, and is projecting an extremely poor image of the the school itself.

By any chance do these smokers take their butts with them or just leave them ground out all over the pavement????

What about teachers smoking outside during their breaks? I see them whenever I drive past ds's school.

I hate thinking of my ds's teachers going back in stinking of smoke and fumes for my ds to inhale.

sunfleurs - again, they are not supposed to. In all the schools I have worked in at both primary and secondary, we were told on starting at the school not to do this - nor to do it sat in your car in the car park, or at the local shops where the children went for lunch. Basically not to smoke in front of children.
