He pleaded guilty to raping (sodomy) a thirteen year old girl and then skipped bail - but apparently he should continue to get away with it because he's a good film director and it was a long time ago. WTF?!

Anyone else think Polanski isn't even such hot shit as a director. I can think of about 6 directors I prefer, and 'Schindler's List' shits on 'The Pianist'.

His current punishment is sitting in his rather lovely ski lodge somewhere posh in Switzerland. He is wearing a ankle monitor so he doesn't go walkabout. How long before the headlines are reporting a lonely ankle bracelet sitting on a bench in a lovely ski lodge while Mr P skips over the border on foot?

thesecond Yep she was 13. Not 'nearly 16' or 'barely legal' or any of the other spurious bloody excuses people give for turning a blind eye to peadophillia. She was a child.

She was dressed up like a toddler in a beauty pagent and hawked about by her disgusting mother.

Old Bill got a pat on the back and a cheeky wink for bagging himself a teen hottie.

Vile, vile, vile.

And I am not that impressed with old man Polanski's body or work etheir - meh!

only read the first page of this thread and have only read the bbc report but for me the major thing that stands out is the fact that the victim of the rape actually does not want the charges to be brought against Polanski.

Regardless of what we think of the case and what we think should be done, surely her wishes, requesting that the case is dropped because she feels it is damaging to her family life should be respected, and her wishes as the victim should be respected above all others, shouldn't they ?
