To doctor my passport photo?

I am in the happy position of finally renewing my passport after ten years of hiding it from people and not letting them see the frankly hideous photo in it (over-plucked eyebrows and ill-advised attempt at a sideswept fringe)...

However

I have put a fair bit of weight on the last year or two which I'm trying to shift, and it really shows in my face. AIBU to photoshop out my hint of puffy chin, especially as I intend to rectify the situation long before I need to renew the passport again? This could be the last time I have a passport before I start looking like an old crone- I know it's vain, but is a bit of tweaking unreasonable?

Go get the photo done again (and again) if you really don't like it... it took 3 attempts till I got one I would carry with me for 10 years....

You can't tweak, but if you pay for someone to take it properly... nicely lit etc, it's gotta be worth it.

That's funny groundhogs but didn't she have prostheses in Monster? So it wouldn't work for the biometirc face-scanning thing, would it?

I'm a photographer. I do passport snaps for people who'd rather not look like escapees from Broadmoor. Which includes me. You can't SIGNIFICANTLY alter any aspect of your appearance and must strictly adhere to the required measurement matrix. But you can, with a very light Photoshopped touch "lose" things like zits and tiny wrinkles. Chins and baggy eyes have to stay. Basically the Passport Office has to be able to "capture the biometric" and heavily edited pictures will fall foul of their capturing machines.

Just do what i did, i had poor dp take 200 or so photoes of me standing against a white wall til by some miracle the combination of make up, perfect lighting and that one a year occurance called 'Pink not making a stupid face or blinking' occured and we got one that i could actually use
