To think it should not be too hard to find second hand 18-24 months baby clothes??

Most of DD's clothes are second hand. I have bought from Gumtree, charity shops and other MNetters in the past but am finding it incredibly difficult to source right now. Ebay seems to be full of dresses and cutesy stuff that I cant be bothered with. I prefer trousers, cardis, dungarees and long sleeve tops, but its all T-shirts, shorts and horrible mini-adult stuff.

Surely there must be bags and bags of stuff just sitting in cupboards that could be making money?

Probably been done before, sorry. But we're into autumn now and I'm running out of clothes. Oh and I have PMT.

Our local childrens centres do a monthly swap shop where you bring stuff you don't want and take away stuff you do!

Might be worth checking if there is something similar in your area.

MadameOvary · 23/09/2009 18:37

Great idea Cuppa! I do give away stuff too so I'll ask about.

Have you been to seesaw at the bottom of Broughton St lately? They've started selling second hand stuff. There's one in Brunstfield or Morningside too, presumably they're doing it too.

MadameOvary · 23/09/2009 19:21

No, I didn't know about Seesaw, but thanks, will check it out

madamovary sorry can't help with 18-24 BUT you are welcome to next size (2-3) clothes for dd.

I had planned to pack dd clothes and send to charity shop (not particularly keen on charity shops.....the little ladies rummage through and take the best stuff!)

You can have it all....coats, trousers, jeans, skirts, tops, cardigans, tights, socks, dresses....the whole lot. Only thing though is to pay for postage from Belfast. Let me know if you are interested.

mrstimlovejoy · 24/09/2009 22:30

madamovary i'm just listing my dd's clothes on ebay as having a really good sort out as we have boxes of clothes from newborn upto 3 years.i have loads of 18 - 24 clothes [mostly next] but trousers, long sleeve tops, cardigans, fleeces too many to mention.some have only been worn once or twice.let me know if your interested i can do a link x

colditz · 24/09/2009 22:32

Madame give me a shout, I might be able to help you - they are technically boys clothes but mostly dungarees, denim and brights.

littleducks · 24/09/2009 22:40

i think it is a messy age and is when your stle of clothes buying changes, baby clothes last weeks, at 18-24 you are heading towardsa clothes lasting a year

my ds is going towards this size of clothes and im finding it a nightmare to find new clothes that will be hardwearing enough, i bought some asda pjamas and after one wash they are ruined, so much of his baby clothes i could sell/pass on but now anything bigger than 12 months is rag quality when outgrown

Dianne35 · 25/09/2009 00:23

Freecycle? Sorry if someone has already suggested that - you can put a specific request on for clothes for that age group and there's usually plenty of folk looking for an excuse to clear out the loft! I would help, but only have a DS...!

MadameOvary · 25/09/2009 08:17

Tinypawz, have CAT ed you.
Mrstim, yes please I'd like the link
colditz, dungarees are always good
littleducks you could be right, I think nursery in particular is a great place to ruin clothes!
Dianne, yep done the Freecycle thing, no use, sadly

MadameO,
I have a ds who is 2 but has gone into 4yr old clothes, so i have some jeans and tops etc which are kinda redundant...will look at what I have later if you want?

MadameOvary · 26/09/2009 14:33

Sorry TLE, haven't been on MN for a day, I am okay, thanks, a couple of MNetters have offered a good size bundle so don't want to end up with too many!
Thanks to all of you who replied.
