Am getting sick of having 2 kids in the house to look after, DH and DS. DS fine, he's doing what toddlers do, but he loves to sample whatever is on someone else's plate.
DH guards his plate contents with his life! Or, in fact, his doritos/cheetos/whatever other huge snackbag of crisps he has.

I'm quite happy to let DS try whatever I'm eating (particularly curry ) but I object strongly to being the only one to give up part of my ice cream to avoid a raging tantrum! DH gets most offended when I suggest he might want to share as well

why are you assuming its the ops job to dole out the portions and not her dhs

Stereophonic · 08/09/2009 16:53

I wouldn't order my 16 month old a whole ice cream either OP, just so you know you're not alone! I don't see the need for him to have that much when he can have some of ours. I am fat enough - I don't need a whole one anyway!

I wouldn't eat anything in front of him though if I'm not prepared to let him have some (either some of mine or a child size portion - I'm not really getting the difference). So I don't actually think you are BU.

DD doesn't give you the option, she just strolls up and picks what she fancies up from your plate (dining table inaccessible at the mo, eat off laps ). Unfortunately her fat little paw often closes round the lamb chop or whatever is the choicest item so she's standing there munching like Henry VIII while DH chases after her waving his fork in protest

I don't share food. Never have. Boy gets his own plate/ice cream whatever.

I grew up as one of 6, keep your hands away from my plate if you don't want to be pulling it back with a fork in it.

We have lots of food, we are very lucky, there is no reason for me (or DH) to give DS any of ours.

you can borrow dd2 if you like. She comes up to you tell you to 'share' then takes bag of crisps and give you one and walks off with said packet.

I'm not sure she gets 'sharing' .
